Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, a sprawling chalet-style property 10 minutes from Lake Geneva’s town center that takes inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright's prairie-style architecture and design, is one of Wisconsin's best resorts (U.S. News & World Report Travel).

Rooms are country chic with leather armchairs and antique-style furniture; suites feature a full wet bar including a minifridge, and some also have sofa beds and gas fireplaces. Dining options include the steak-focused Geneva Chophouse and Ristorante Brissago, both winners of multiple OpenTable Diners' Choice awards.

This resort feels like an enormous country club with two golf courses and multiple pools on site; guests can also access the nearby Timber Ridge sister resort with its 50,000-square-foot indoor water park, heated water slides and a lazy river (passes available to guests for an additional fee).

The resort is located just 10 minutes from downtown Lake Geneva with its many boutique shops, restaurants and bars; Midwest Living magazine says the town is one of the Midwest's "Great Fall Color Getaways" and also a "Winter Wonderland."

Surrounding area and grounds are beautiful. Did like and appreciate the trolleys. Desk staff and valets were all courteous and helpful.

Did not like the layout of the rooms. Lots of groups of steps, and confusing floorplan. Outdated design. Outside signs did not provide clear enough instructions of how to get to registration desk. Our room was ready for us when we got there, but we were there for a family wedding, and many of our relatives were not able to get into their rooms to get ready for the wedding, because it began at 4:00 PM, which is your check-in time. Check-in time needs to be moved to an earlier time. This really presented a problem for many, and they were upset and really complaining about it. You should be able to accommodate guests who have traveled there to attend a wedding to allow them to get into their rooms to change their clothes and get ready for the wedding, which was held at your venue! Lots of money was spent and people should not have been left in the position that they were. Getting ready in your spa area is not sufficient for those who needed and wanted privacy! Also, we brought our puppy (7-1/2 months old) with us, and we had to leave because he was howling, so we could not leave him alone in our room). Therefore, we did not even stay overnight, so only had the room for about 3 hours. Of course our problem with the dog is not Grand Geneva's fault, but, considering the circumstances we would have appreciated a bit of a discount.

We could book only one (1) night, as they were otherwise fully-booked (alas!), so we didn't have much time to explore many facilities, but the room was tranquil with an exquisite view, the dining and drinking facilities also had marvelous views. Would love to explore Dan Patch Stables, which offers Haunted Hayrides in this Halloween season, but horseback rides otherwise. Cross-country skiing in season? I surely hope so, as the rolling hills and forested vistas would offer some great skiing, I'd bet.
