We were in town for the Philadelphia Marathon weekend. This hotel was great as it was very nice, very affordable for the area, and good proximity to the start/finish of the races (for those of us racing) as well a to the 6 mile mark of the course (for those of us spectating).

From the moment we pulled in to the moment we left, the staff was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and welcoming even though we looked ragged from traveling all day and not looking our best. The suite was large with a comfortable sitting area. The room is set up more as a pampering luxury suite rather than a "live in" type and it worked for us. There is a weighted pay minifridge in room to use for personal if you ask them to remove the items inside. The bed was very comfy and a/c worked great.
Location is fantastic. Rittenhouse Square area has some great restaurants, bars and shopping. The area is eclectic and diverse and we never felt unsafe. Very walkable city.
Would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay when visiting Philadelphia- Wonderful neighborhood - close to many excellent restaurants, bars, etc…And the property is immaculate. But most importantly the staff was top notch: Everyone was so friendly and accommodating - Mera and Paige at the front desk were so nice to us, and Timothy the bellman was great also :) and to top it all off, we had breakfast at their restaurant before checking out and it was incredible !! There’s so many other employees we interacted with that were great also (valet parking, waiters, housecleaning, etc..) that I wish I could remember their names so I could also mention them here…Suffice it to say that everyone at this hotel was fantastic - Can’t wait to go back and visit again :)

We have been staying at Sofitel Philadelphia for over 15 years when we make our annual trek to Philly. There are great restaurants nearby, and would heartily recommend Via Locusta which is in walking distance to the hotel. The buffet breakfast is wonderful.

We booked a suite with a pull out sofa because we were 3 adult’s traveling. During check in we told them we would need sheets , they said no problem just let us know when you need the bed made. Well, we went up to the room to freshen up and a half hour later we came down and asked them if they could make the bed, that we would be back later. Well, we came back five hours later to no bed being made had to go down to the front desk to get bedding, which we made our selfs. Plus they charge you a resort fee of $25.00 plus tax .

Location, location, location you can't have ask for a better location. I've stayed at at this location before so I jumped on the Travelzoo deal when I needed to be in Philly. You are right in city center and able to get to do, and see just about anything. Eating, shopping is all in walking distance. I must say attention to detail and response time from staff was a little lacking this trip. But It wont stop me from visiting again.

I dropped my luggage off at the front desk and went sightseeing. Upon arrival back to hotel I waited to my bag to be brought to me. After waiting over five minutes I told the front desk staff “im going to eat lunch, please bring it to me there when it arrives”. The luggage never arrived. I booked my reservation with Travelzoo. In my amenities it said continental breakfast included. I went to breakfast buffet the next day. When I arrived home there was a charge for over $34 for breakfast on my bill. I immediately called and spoke to four different staff members explaining the situation. They said no I wasn’t entitled to breakfast buffet. I politely asked to speak to a manager who then informed me that she wouldn’t remove the breakfast buffet charge for me. I then told her that I wouldn’t be returning to hotel to stay again and that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company. She then decided she would remove charge for me.

I only have one suggestion regarding check-out. We went on the TV portal to check-out and noticed that there were 3 nights of parking attached to the bill. We were concerned and went down to the front desk. They informed us that those charges were a "security deposit" since we chose Valet parking. I understand the need for it, but it was a bit alarming to see it on our bill without knowing what it was. I would suggest you just make sure you inform customers that there will be a pending charge on their card when the arrive.

The location of the hotel was excellent, as it was conveniently close to many attractions and restaurants. It made exploring the city much easier and more enjoyable.I found the staff at the Sofitel Hotel to be very friendly and accommodating.However, there were a couple of areas that could be improved upon. The continental breakfast offered at the hotel was not up to the expected standard. The options were limited and the overall quality of the breakfast fell short of my expectations.
Additionally, I was disappointed that the housekeeping service did not visit my room during my four-night stay. Despite these minor setbacks, I had a wonderful time staying at the Sofitel Hotel. The positive experiences outweighed the negatives, and I appreciate the efforts made by the hotel staff to ensure a pleasant stay. The communication from the hotel was excellent, and it played a significant role in making my stay memorable.

Staff were very attentive. Room suite was designed with two non family members in mind. Bathroom with entrances on bothsides. Attractively furnished.
