Loved High Peaks Resort. Location was perfect - ability to walk to all shops and restaurants in Lake Placid Village and around Mirror lake. Staff was exceptionally helpful at every turn. Always enjoy Lake Placid for Christmas shopping. This was our first experience staying at the High Peaks. It is a lovely hotel. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Room was very nice with a comfortable bed and gorgeous view of Mirror Lake.

The staff was very responsive, even though many didn’t have the answers we needed. Our shower left the bathroom floor very wet. The coffee maker never worked and it was a long walk from our room to the lobby coffee. The breakfast in the Dancing Bears restaurant was among the best I’ve had.

Pricing was right especially since the town was between seasons and lacking in energy. But if you love Lake Placid as we do then High Peaks is a great place to stay for its location and amenities. The $50 credit and welcome champagne were very nice touches - appreciate that TravelZoo!

Had a king room overlooking the lake on the 3rd floor. View was beautiful. The heating/ cooling system worked good. The room was very clean. Loved the rain shower with plenty of hot water. The bed was a little firm but not bad. The welcome champagne was ice cold and we even got an extra glass. The resort was very quiet on wed and thurs nights. The free lavazza coffee in the morning and cookies in the afternoon were very good. We used our $50 credit for burgers and beers at the dancing bears restaurant on site. Food was good but not great for the price. Blueberry cafe was a short walk from the lobby and was great for breakfast. High falls gorge was a short ride away with a short easy walk around the falls for about $15. Top of the Park is a great restaurant across the road for cocktails and small plates.

On the second day the coffee in the lobby was empty by 8 am. We asked the front desk and they quickly brought out more coffee.
