Overview

Tregenna Castle Hotel was built in 1774, and is set in over 70 acres of gardens that overlook St Ives and the Atlantic. It's a destination in its own right, with an 18-hole par-3 golf course, tennis, squash and badminton courts, beauty treatment rooms, swimming pools, a brasserie restaurant and much more.

The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the white-sand Porthminster Beach, as well as the seaside town of St Ives, which is described by Lonely Planet as a "pretty jumble of slate roofs, church towers and turquoise bays". In the 1920s, St Ives was the epicentre of Cornwall's art scene, and today it is home to Tate St Ives, the Leach Pottery, and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.

The South West Coast Path -- which leads to the Hayle Estuary or the picturesque Zennor village -- can be joined within 15 minutes' walk of the hotel. St Michael's Mount is a 20-minute drive away, and Land's End is 40 minutes away by car.

Castle Double Rooms at Tregenna Castle Hotel don't face the sea. Castle Sea View Double Rooms have views across the bay, and some have a sofa bed. You can also enjoy sea views from the Brasserie restaurant, which serves locally sourced seafood, as well as stone-baked pizzas and juicy British steaks.

Disappointed to see advertised at the hotel that the break was £20 cheaper. Room small compared to last visit, noisy from room above, couldn't open blind as over looked by various other windows, all Looking onto a very very small tatty box yard.
