"Staff was responsive and catered to our needs. Roy, the concierge, is an expert booker! He got us on the best tours at the best times. He should be your first stop. At checkin, Kenneth ironed out a few wrinkles, so to speak, and made this trip most enjoyable. Très Bien!!"

Why We Love This Hotel

  • Just a couple blocks north of the party on Bourbon Street
  • Rooms overlook the French Quarter or the tropical courtyard and pool
  • The casual on-site restaurant and lounge serves local, organic Louisiana comfort food
  • "For guests who want a bit of peace and quiet while still being close to the party, Maison Dupuy is an excellent choice" (Oyster.com)

Overview

Just a couple blocks off Rue Bourbon, the Maison Dupuy occupies a quiet time capsule in the French Quarter, where wrought iron fences, gas lights and 19th-century architecture deliver old-world charm and sophistication as well as a lovely courtyard that "feels worlds away from bustling Bourbon Street" (Oyster.com).

Guest rooms start at 275 square feet and feature pillowtop beds, flat-panel TVs and coffeemakers, as well as bathrooms accented with marble and free Wi-Fi. For an extra 125 square feet of space and unobstructed views of the courtyard or the French Quarter, we recommend upgrading to one of the Deluxe rooms.

The property was initially built as the nation's first cotton press, and you can still find remnants of its storied past — think original brick edifices, ornate French-style doors and wrought iron balconies. There are contemporary amenities, too, like the saltwater pool in the courtyard or the on-site restaurant Bistreaux, which serves locally-sourced organic Louisiana-style comfort food. By the way, if you're spending the weekend, we suggest stopping for the Sunday brunch where you can catch live jazz music.

Onsite restaurant has many options. My favorite was the seafood omelet and avocado toast with spicy mango-fruit on top.

Loved the hotel & staff! We are older & feel we need to be more in the center of things. We were afraid to walk from restaurants back to the hotel. Some of the streets were deserted & were poorly lit. We’d love to return but only if it were with a group.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean accommodations, in great location in French Quarter, far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to all the major attractions, about 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. The breakfast package was a great plus, it included a daily Full American Breakfast. The staff was always very friendly and attentive at the Bistreaux Restaurant. There’s daily coffee and mid-day spa water provided in the main lobby which also a great perk. Thank you for the excellent accommodations...I would certainly stay there again the next time I’m in NOLA!

Overall great experience. One glitch happened the first day when the cleaning service emptied the trash can contents into the commode and stopped it up. Just an FYI.

on the down side they had a private party on our first day and we were unable to use the pool or the courtyard. They did give us an option for a sister hotel I may have booked that one if we were informed. Breakfast and restaurant was very good but they were at first a bit inflexible about the breakfast voucher they told us that we had to choose the same breakfast every day. you should be able to choose to pay the difference if you choose something more expensive or choose something that is less expensive which they did allow on the second day.
