Newly constructed in Manhattan’s hip NoMad neighborhood, the Paul Hotel opened in 2015 within a 20-minute walk of the city’s top attractions including the Empire State Building, Times Square and Madison Square Park. Eight major subway lines are within a five-block radius of the property, making downtown landmarks like the World Trade Center and uptown must-sees like Central Park easily accessible.

Modern rooms have big warehouse-style windows with graphic skylines etched on the curtains -- almost identical to the scene outside. Rooms feature Keurig coffeemakers, framed aerial shots of city streets, work desks with Rolodexes full of neighborhood tips and bedside dictionaries. Street noise can reach even the higher floors, but the hotel provides earplugs for light sleepers. Families can book bunk-bed rooms with adjoining queen-bed rooms for additional space and privacy.

Each evening from 4-8 p.m., the hotel bar and restaurant hosts a happy hour. In warm months, drink specials are also available on the hotel’s rooftop with panoramic views of the Empire State Building. There is no gym on site, but guests receive free access to nearby Blink Fitness, including its group classes -- a big perk for active travelers unwilling to shell out big bucks for a pricey fitness class in the city.

From the press:
  • "From the north side of the building, there are gorgeous views of the Empire State Building" -- Fodor’s
  • "The Paul also has taken some style-cues from its neighbors, creating chic (if small) spaces for guests" -- Frommer’s

Did not have my room ready. I feel as if the hotel disregarded me because I purchased from a third party. Breakfast was not good and did not have enough

The room is small but nice.

there is a construction pit across the street and it's extremely loud from early morning until the end of the workday. Sunday is the only quiet day.

The location was great - close to Penn Station and walking distance to other NYC sights. Staff were friendly, room was clean, bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was good.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Paul. The only negative (which is not their fault) is the noise from the construction across the street. However, the staff moved us to a much larger room on the quieter side of the hotel for no extra charge. I can't say enough about the staff - everyone was courteous, helpful and efficient. The free hot breakfast was quite good and was great fuel for our explorations of the city. The wi fi could be a little better, but overall, I would enthusiastically recommend this hotel and am planning to return on my next visit to NY.

We liked everything about The Paul. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The rooms were stylish and modern. We have no complaints. I would definitely stay there again. Too bad a high rise is being built across the street which will most likely take away the amazing view of the Empire State building.

They did not have the Empire State Queen Room available for me Saturday and put me and my guest in a bunk bed room with no space. Sunday morning I had to go back downstairs to get what I paid for and move rooms.
