Steeped in history with a touch of elegance throughout the entire property, the Omni William Penn Hotel has been a staple of downtown Pittsburgh for several generations.

One of the last ventures by industrialist and Pittsburgh steel pioneer Henry Clay Frick, the AAA 4-Diamond hotel's historic beauty is evident from the first step into the lobby. Twinkling crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, giving life to the earth tones that make the grand lobby inviting despite its regal décor.

Rooms feature wood furnishings and warm colors that exude a cozy yet luxurious feel. Families are made to feel welcome as kids are presented upon check-in with a backpack of healthy snack recipes, crayons and an activity book.

A signature dining experience can be found in the mahogany-adorned Terrace Room where historic pictures and molded plaster ceiling lend the restaurant its touch of class. For cocktails, The Speakeasy vaults guests back to the roaring '20s in a room below the lobby that offers classic drinks as well as Pennsylvania-themed cocktails. An on-site fitness center offers machines and weights 24 hours a day.

Enjoyed Most: The building is beautiful and grand. We had a nice room with a view. The front desk employees were very friendly. We received free coffee delivered to our room in the morning because we are Omni rewards members.
Other Comments: Parking in Pittsburgh is expensive.

Enjoyed Most: Great old hotel that has been updated but keeps its heritage as the grand dame of Pittsburgh.

Enjoyed Most: Everything. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The room is clean and very comfortable. Everyone on the staff was friendly and professional. I wish I could have spent more time there.
Other Comments: I think the valet service is overpriced and was not very fast.

Enjoyed Most: All of the public areas in the hotel, from the main entrance to the hallways had a historic/classic beauty and were well maintained. The staff at the front desk were extremely attentive and courteous. As for the rooms, I was pleasantly surprised. They were updated, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom we had was bit small, but not uncomfortable by any means. Beyond this, my fiance and I really enjoyed the location as it was a short walk to many restaurants and other attractions downtown. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Pittsburg!
Other Comments: If you visit after 4:00 PM on a Friday, or anytime Saturday/Sunday then skip the valet and use the underground parking garage across the street. It is $32 versus $5 (though the parking garage doesn't have in/out privileges).

Enjoyed Most: The beautiful architecture and that it is a historic hotel. The location is also good. We walked to the strip and to fort Pitt.
Other Comments: Quite a large room. There were 2 bathrooms. One with a shower and one without. The one with was quite small but having a second bathroom compensated nicely.
Debra Apr 13, 2015 Lewisberry, PA, United States
Enjoyed Most: Location. Lobby. Friendliness of staff.
Other Comments: Old-world hotel still kicking. Great location downtown. Each room can be different so check into that. Public parking across the street, cheaper than valet. Market Square, the only downtown entertainment square, is much better than it used to be. Worth a stay.
