The LA Downtown Hotel is set among the skyscrapers of Bunker Hill and steps from the city’s Financial District, where the streets are busy by day but calm down considerably at night. The hotel is a stylish and modern choice for business travelers.
Crystal chandeliers hang high above marble floors in the massive lobby, and guest rooms are "cheerful" (Gayot), outfitted in muted tones with warm golden accents and floor-to-ceiling windows. They're spacious, clean and offer comfortable Serta Perfect Sleeper beds for a good night's rest. Opt for a room on the south side for a city view and on a higher floor to avoid noise from the freeway outside.
The hotel is mellow and quiet for downtown standards, but head a few blocks south toward Grand Avenue, then to Hill, Main and Spring streets where trendy nightlife options are plentiful. The hotel is directly across the street from the World Trade Center, and guests are within a 10-minute walk of central business headquarters like the Bank of America Plaza, Wells Fargo Center and City National Plaza. Can’t-miss LA institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art and Walt Disney Concert Hall are a 10-minute walk in the other direction, and action-packed L.A. Live is a 25-minute walk.
