“Las Vegas’ hottest new foodie hotel” -- Zagat

Why We Love It

  • Celebrity chefs abound at eight different restaurants
  • Rouses the quieter north end of the Strip with poolside lounges and a glitzy nightclub
  • A casino covers 60,000 square feet with hundreds of slots and table games

Located at the north end of the Strip, the SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is a modern remake of a classic. With the help of designer Philippe Starck, the hotel pays homage to its roots as the former hangout of the Beatles, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, while incorporating modern design.

The hotel features two towers -- Story and World -- each with a different vibe.  The loft-inspired Story Tower rooms are small by Vegas standards and minimalistic in design and decor with dark gray walls, concrete and mirror ceilings and bright yellow open-concept bathrooms. For a more traditional, tranquil vibe, opt for a room in the World Tower where rooms are slightly larger, and the modern, elegant decor and soft lighting make for a soothing environment. Sleep in comfort on a Sleep Lying Still BeautyRest Mattress by Simmons Hospitality, exclusive to SLS Hotels. Watch your favorite show on a 55-inch flat-screen TV, standard in every room.

On-site dining options include James Beard award-winning chef José Andrés’ Bazaar Meat steakhouse, trendy Umami Burger and innovative Japanese cuisine at Katsuya.

Search for lady luck in the 60,000-square-foot casino, where table games, slot machines and race and sports books provide ample opportunities to win. If the weather is right, take a break from the tables at the pool, which offers room to lounge and a pool bar just steps away. Or head to AWAY Spa, located in the W Las Vegas-side of the property, for some hard-earned pampering.

Yes, the restaurants are fabulous. All three restaurants offer happy hour which is great. The staff is very friendly

The RoomNot a king size bed and when it got serviced I did not get a new set of fresh towels, cups, or complementary water. I have to call and ask for it. Also, although a non-smoking room was requested you can smell smoke everywhere. However, when I requested a late check out they gave me an additional two complementary hours. That was much appreciated

SLS claims the rooms were overbooked, we did not get our room

View, pool, monorail proximity, staff---and SLS is a smaller footprint hotel so that virtually everything is convenient.
Other Comments
Request a high floor room with view of city and mountains. We've stayed at many strip hotels but will return to the SLS with its classy ambience and lack of congestion throughout. Even though it's a little distance from most of the action, the adjacent monorail took us to 5 stops in 5-8 minutes.

Was not able to get a rollaway bed due to "Fire Dept. regulations" involving room size. This came as a surprise At check in, even though the Hotel website lists rollaway beds as available for an additional fee. The concierge also failed to mention our room had a couch in it that the third person in our party could have slept on. He wouldn't have booked his own room had he known about the couch.

The employees were very polite and attentive. The check in was easy and no issues with my reservation. The dealers were pleasant. It was a nice atmosphere.
Other Comments
The room was not decorated to give you comfort, calm or quiet. It had two huge mirrors on each side of the room. I guess it was to make the room look bigger. The lamp at the desk was cumbersome to use . The bulb wattage was too high and shined right on the desk and made a glare back into your face. If you turned it the light bulb hung outside the rim so it shined too bright. The colors were black and white but ugly black & white. I am sorry, but it was not comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, but the ambiance was not. The restaurants prices were too high. Did not eat there, went to another place
