The 4-star Apex Temple Court Hotel is in the middle of London's legal district, near the Royal Courts of Justice, and housed in a building that was once a barristers' chambers on famous Fleet Street. It's a historic part of the City and within a 15-minute walk of the West End, Covent Garden and St Paul's Cathedral.

Chancery Lane and St Paul's Tube stations are close by, with good connections to the rest of London. Also within walking distance are the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye, as well as Trafalgar Square and the Royal Opera House.

"There are excellent breakfasts to look forward to" at the trendy Chambers Bar & Restaurant, says The AA Hotel Guide. There's also a good range of classic cocktails on offer at the bar, and a wide choice of wines by the glass.

The property had a £50 million refurbishment in 2012 and now features contemporary décor throughout. The spacious bedrooms are no exemption -- all have king-size beds, free Wi-Fi and windows that open to overlook a quiet interior courtyard. Nice touches are the non-steam mirrors, Bose sound system and tea-, coffee- and hot chocolate-making facilities. Those staying in Deluxe rooms or higher have Nespresso coffee machines and receive access to the Club Lounge, with complimentary drinks and snacks all day. There's also a small gym for all guests.

Can 100% recommend this hotel. Contemporary. Stylish. Very clean. Wonderful level of service. Great food. Large comfortable bed. Quiet - amazing given that it's just off of Fleet Street. It has its own courtyard which is a haven away from the manic streets of London. Wonderful location to explore Southbank and within easy reach of Tower of London, Tate Modern and Theatre District.
