As the name suggests, Hotel Belloy Saint Germain is in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, which Fodor's calls the "most classically Parisian neighbourhood" thanks to its "genteel blocks lined with upscale art galleries, storied cafés, designer boutiques, atmospheric restaurants, and a fine selection of museums". The area, in the 6th arrondissement, is next to the Latin Quarter, so named because La Sorbonne, the university, was founded here and Latin was the common language of all its students.
Hotel Belloy Saint Germain, formerly the Hotel des Etrangers, opened in 1871 and retains a sense of Old Paris with its natural stone and exposed beams. On the Left Bank of the Seine River, the property is close to the Jardins du Luxembourg, the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe (one of France's national theatres), the Louvre Museum and Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral.
Standard Rooms are elegant, yet cosy and have modern conveniences like LCD TVs, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. All rooms are non-smoking.
The breakfast buffet is open from 7am and offers a selection of pastries from the hotel's bakery, as well as cheeses, fruits, traditional meats and a variety of cereals and eggs.
