"We were celebrating our 30 years of a wonderful marriage. The extremely friendly hostess who we had never met. She made our celebration extremely special by giving us a room facing Times Square. The icing on Miss Mikela’s friendliness was that she personally sent us a Congratulations card and with a wonderful gift of a nice bubbly bottle of Champagne and gormert popcorn! It put tears into our eyes and we had to find her the next day to warmly thank her for her kindness!"

Overview

The New York Marriott Marquis is in the epicenter of the endlessly energetic Times Square. Just outside the hotel’s doors, thousands of residents and tourists pass by on their ways to see the myriad sights, sounds and nonstop action of this part of Manhattan. Even the lobby is a sight to behold, with an atrium featuring high-speed glass elevators. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the acclaimed venues of the Broadway Theater District.

Some of the largest guest rooms in New York City, the hotel's standard rooms all have pullout sofa beds in addition to their feather-top mattress beds. Bathrooms are modern with granite sinks and sleek faucets. Some rooms directly overlook Times Square, making this a sought-after spot for watching the famous New Year’s Eve ball drop.

The hotel maximizes its vantage point with the View, the only revolving restaurant in New York City. In warmer months, guests can relax with cocktails and small plates on the outdoor terrace overlooking Broadway.

From the press:
  • "The Marriott is a safe, comfortable choice for theater lovers who want to stay in the heart of Times Square" -- Time Out New York
  • "The oversize accommodations are all surprisingly quiet" -- Gayot

Please Management should warmly thank Miss. Mikela for making this a memorable 30years wedding anniversary. Her kindness melted our hearts like a rich smooth butter made with unselfish love!

The location was right in the theatre district so we were right around the corner from all of the shows and great restaurants.

You front desk was rude and the most unprofessional front desk we have ever encountered. The bar was in the middle of the hotel and you could hear the noise late into the evening. They need to fix that front desk and teach them how to speak to customers.

Service in the Crossroads American Kitchen & Bar was very, very slow. It was not full, but the line to be seated was slow moving. It was also a challenge to wave down our waitress to even get water. Water was not served until we were almost done eating and after our having to ask numerous times. Food was delicious. I found I prefer to NOT stay in the frenetic environment of Times Square. We arrived on a red-eye flight and appreciated being able to get into our room earlier than the normal check in time. We found and reported a backpack sitting unclaimed by the elevator on our floor. We were impressed with how quickly security came to retrieve the backpack.

Only negative was trying to get luggage out of storage (temporarily stored after checking out) on last day when leaving for airport. Very disorganized and long wait.
