Attached to the iconic Grand Central Terminal lives the Grand Hyatt New York Hotel, which Time Out Magazine praises as offering "efficiency and convenience."

A $130 million renovation in 2011 brought the addition of two ethereal sculptures by Barcelona-based artist Jaume Plensa in the lobby. Soaring ceilings make the property feel grand, yet the guest rooms feel more like a Manhattan apartment than a hotel.

The rooms at this 1300-unit property are all a minimum of 250 square feet and have been retouched with modern decor, plus iPod docks, a work area and a marble-filled bathroom. There's also complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour market on the ground floor, which has coffee, snacks, hot meals, drinks and fresh fruit.

When it's time to head out, travelers will be spoiled for choice with four subway lines operating out of Grand Central's hub. Stroll three blocks west to explore Bryant Park and the shopping mecca that is Fifth Avenue or walk 10 minutes south to the Empire State Building. Times Square's buzzing scene is also less than a 15-minute stroll away.

Beautiful hotel and large rooms for NYC.

Up all night with people partying and slamming doors. I have no problem with people have a good time in NY, but the front desk knows where they're putting an entire tour group and should not squeeze in other customers on the same floor. Just asking for a bad review, and here it is.

Modern hotel with great location. Room was ample and clean each day of our 4-nite stay. Got a great off-season price.

The snack shop cashiers/proprietors were not customer friendly at all when we used our complimentary drink cards. Other staff members at the hotel were helpful and friendly.
