Built in 1825 and set in over 260 acres of Cheshire parkland, The Shrigley Hall Hotel "commands stunning views of the countryside", according to The AA Hotel Guide 2016.

The Rosette-awarded Oakridge Restaurant is described by The AA as a "spacious, elegant dining room" with "swagged curtains, chandeliers and thick napery to luxuriate in". After dinner, you can head to The Courtyard Bar or the cosy hotel lounge.

Facilities include a health club with an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room, a Jacuzzi, a gym and a fitness studio, plus a range of pampering treatments are on offer at the beauty rooms. There is also an 18-hole golf course on site.

Bordering the Peak District National Park, the village of Pott Shrigley offers access to countless rambling routes, and there are a whole host of historic houses and gardens, theme parks and museums on the doorstep. The historic walled city of Chester is approximately one hour away.

Expect classic décor, and a seating and work area in the bedrooms, plus Wi-Fi is free throughout. Dog-friendly rooms are an extra £15.

A large wedding party was at the hotel and although the staff were good, it was obvious that not enough staff were on. I also have a leg injury and a room was given that was on the third floor and the lift was out of action. We were given two more rooms both adjacent to the wedding party and were very noisy. The second night's stay was much better. Would go back but would check if there a wedding was on.

Our overall experience of staying here was very positive, from the moment we checked in to checking out, we could not fault anything that this hotel had to over.

Higher Management and reception very welcoming. Food for breakfast and Dinner was nice. The deal we had was good value but the hotel needs to be renovated (particularly bedrooms).
Other Comments
The bedrooms and general interior looked very tired. The swimming pool and changing rooms were very dirty. This was later in the day so clearly the staff were not maintaining the high standards you are proclaiming. If Shrigley Hall wants to keep its status of a good hotel, it desperately needs renovation.

Environment. Nice environment.
Other Comments
Breakfast excellent. Good service. Dinner chaotic and confused billing for the supposed included meals. Gym excellent. Spa and swimming pool unacceptably dirty and poorly maintained. Insufficient lighting in sauna. Dirty floors with rubbish in corner. Interior decoration somewhat tired and shabby.
