Step into the lobby of the Omni Parker House Hotel, and you are instantly immersed in history. The longest continuously operating hotel in the United States, the hotel has hosted every president since Ulysses S. Grant for dinners and conferences. It’s here that John F. Kennedy made his first public speech at the age of 7, later in life announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate and even proposed to Jacqueline Bouvier. Literary legends have also held court within its walls, as Charles Dickens gave his first public reading of “A Christmas Carol” and Longfellow drafted “Paul Revere’s Ride”.

At the corner of Tremont and School Streets, guests are at the border of the financial district and Beacon Hill neighborhoods. Just a short stroll down Tremont Street leads to Boston Common, the oldest park in the country. The hotel conveniently sits on the Freedom Trail, a collection of sites along a path that pays homage to the story of the American Revolution.

Culinary innovation flourishes at the hotel -- Boston cream pie was invented at the on-site Parker’s Restaurant. Guest rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as plush robes, triple sheeting and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel’s impressive fitness center is equipped with everything from a bench press to elliptical machines, and is complimentary to guests.

Enjoyed Most: I liked the location and the staff. I may recomend the hotel but only to people willing to pay full price because Im sure they would get a beter room
Other Comments: I find when I get a room for a discounted price, it is because it is the rooms they are not going to be able to sell. It is very disappointing to look out the window into an alley with a wall five feet away on the other side. I feel like I got down graded because I bought the room through travelzoo. To me it does not feel like much of a deal!

Enjoyed Most: The location of the hotel is ideal for being in the downtown Boston area. The lobby is very opulent. The front desk staff was very attentive and personal. We had a view of the city which was very nice.
Other Comments: The room was very neat and clean, although small. The bathroom was TINY (much too small) and provided no room to set up personal items. Would probably not stay here if it weren't for the Travelzoo discount. There are hotels with larger rooms with comparable rates.
