The location is fantastic. Check in was a breeze, and the staff is very courteous and available. Our room was fine, but was missing a mini fridge, the ceiling fan was rather noisy, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work. There was no "main" light in the room. Lighting was turned on at the lamps on each side of the bed. We were located right across the hall from the elevator, which was not what anyone would want for a peaceful stay, but we were pleasantly surprised that we did not hear it at all during our visit. Once again though, the staff was amazing and did a great job at accommodating anything we needed.

We were given a room across from the hotel, not in the Vendue hotel that was described on Travel Zoo. Checking in was a hassle. They booked us in a room that upon entering was already occupied. A bit disturbing. Yes they did upgrade us but it was still in the older hotel across the street. We were next to a conference room and meetings of staff or other business people could be heard in the morning. The hot water took no less than 5 minutes to get warm. Housekeeping service each day was poor. I had asked for new cups for coffee and never received them. Took one of the main towels and didn’t replace it. Check out was also a hassle as well. They couldn’t print a receipt, said they would email it but never received it and had to call the following day to request it.

We met our dear friends for a couple of days in Charleston. We found a great rate on Travel Zoo, which got us to the Vendue. What a pleasant surprise! It’s cute and funky and loaded with people who want to insure a nice stay. Cameron got in touch several days in advance of our stay to offer help. We had the hotel make our dinner reservations. From the time we arrived when Mike took car of our bags and car, we had a delightful stay. The room was windowless and small, but for two nights it was charming. Very quiet, with an up to date bathroom. Convenient location. The art was so interesting and the art tour very informative. The only downside was dinner at Revival. Drinks( old fashions) did not in any way resemble an old fashion.. no cherry, no orange peel, and a color nowhere near the Bullitt Rye we ordered. And the taste was off! The she crab soup was very good, but they forgot to bring our fried oysters. The halibut was nice. The young staff were trying…. Just need more training! All in all, our three days in Charleston were great, made better by staying at the Vendue.
