"I enjoyed being able to have our group sit together in the living room-like lounge to celebrate my husband's birthday. The service was wonderful and attentive, we sat there a long time and ordered many things off their menu. The location was perfect for walking to Orchestra Hall, and meals out."

The Millennium Minneapolis is a great launching point for all-season strolling. The hotel sits right on the Nicollet Mall, a semi-pedestrianized thoroughfare that is Minneapolis' version of a Main Street, with outdoor cafes and sculptures. The hotel is also connected to the city's Skyway, an indoor network of bridges that allows locals to amble over 11 miles of downtown without worrying about cold weather outside. The Skyway leads to popular spots like the Convention Center and the Target Center sports arena.

The hotel invested $22 million in a top-to-bottom renovation and rooms are clean and contemporary, with huge windows with generally great views. The views of the city are even better up on the 14th floor, where a glass geodesic dome illuminates a special events space that serves as the backdrop in many a wedding portrait. There's also a heated indoor pool and free Wi-Fi in public spaces.

The hotel is about a mile north of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, ranked the top attraction in the city by U.S. News & World Report thanks to a collection of 80,000 works spanning from ancient Egypt to post-war contemporary. Less than two miles in the other direction runs the Mississippi River that separates Minneapolis and St. Paul. Sitting on its banks is the Guthrie Theater, a renowned live performance venue.

Other Comments: Not sure why they double-assigned our room, we were in there and another couple tried to get in, having just been assigned it as well. But they were reassigned and it all worked out fine. Also, the swimming pool was really warm, great for kids maybe?

Enjoyed Most: They had a parking and breakfast deal so I figured the breakfast would be very basic but instead it was extremely gourmet and excellent. Hotel was clean. There were a few sketchy guests in the lounge Saturday night but that's not the hotels fault

Enjoyed Most: Soft sheets...great pillows...awesome shower in the room. We were able to walk through the skyway to the convention center without having to go out in the cold.
Other Comments: I wish we had self parked in the lot adjacent to the hotel for $18 instead of self parking 6 blocks away.

Enjoyed Most: It was downtown, modern and sleek and easy access to many food venues.
Other Comments: We were on the concierge level and it was a bit noisy, but this was mentioned at checkout and it was being investigated.
