One of the oldest hotels in America, the historic Kelley House first opened in 1742. Today, it continues to exude colonial charm and help guests make the most of their Martha's Vineyard visit.

The property's guest rooms are housed in four distinct buildings. Complimentary fitness classes and evening milk and cookies help make the Kelley House a go-to destination for visitors looking for a home-away-from-home.

The Kelley House is ideally located in the heart of Edgartown, just a few minutes' walk from the waterfront. Nearby, guests can experience the best of this New England enclave -- including fishing, bicycling, sailing and golfing.

Authentic nautical decor and historic brick fireplaces complete the colonial experience that Kelley House captures, and offer guests a true taste of classic New England. At the on-site pub, The Newes from America, diners can fill up on hearty dishes like fish and chips and "the best French onion soup on the island" (Frommer's) in a cozy space with original wooden beams and a cheerful stone hearth.

Enjoyed Most: The Kelley House is a beautiful hotel which is very well positioned in Edgartown. What we enjoyed most about the hotel was the friendliness, exemplary customer service, and the valuable Martha's Vineyard tourism advice on what to see. The entire experience far exceeded our expectations.
Other Comments: The general manager, Joanne Sardini, does a suburb job in creating a friendly environment in a lovely hotel. She is an encyclopedia of knowledge about the Vineyard that she is never too busy to share. Joanne seemed to know just what additional things to recommend when giving guests tourism advice. We had a lovely morning in Chappaquiddick on a nature tour that Joanne told us about. The hotel is only one block away from the Chappy ferry. In addition, we loved Joanne's beautiful Scottish accent!
