The newly renovated La Villa Maillot is a smart little boutique hotel on an exclusive, tree-lined avenue. It’s located in a flashy residential area, 10 minutes’ walk from the Champs Elysées and just down the street from Porte Maillot station, which provides easy access to the city center (via Metro line 1) and La Défense business district. Right across the road lies the Bois de Boulogne, the city's second largest park, perfect for a morning run.
Reopened in May 2013 following a thorough renovation by the designer who added sparkle to the Plaza Athenee’s Dior spa in 2008, the hotel has been reinvented with a luxe bar, leafy courtyard garden and cozy spa. Guests can make use of the in-house sauna and hammam (Turkish bath) from 5-9pm, and treatments are available all day.
Breakfast is served but there’s no restaurant in house, although there are plenty of dining options nearby -- for classic steak frites try Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte on Boulevard Pereire Sud. Guests looking for sustenance at the hotel can also order snacks in the bar, and a full room service menu is available 7am - 11pm. Hot drinks and pastries are served from 3-6pm.
Recently revamped in a slick reinvention of Art Deco style, rooms are suave with bright flashes of color. All are equipped with powerful rainfall showers (some over bathtubs), and pricier rooms have an additional TV in the glass-walled bathrooms.
