Hotel Royal Saint-Honoré
Why We Love This Hotel
- Excellent location two blocks from the Jardin des Tuileries
- Great French classics served on the alfresco terrace
- Easy access to the fashionable Marais district
- Built on the site of the Marquis de la Fayette’s manor house
It’s ideally located for intrepid sightseers as the Jardin des Tuileries are just two blocks away, and attractions such as the Champs Elysées, the Louvre and the Palais Royal are all within walking distance. Fashionable boutique Colette is just down the street and trendy shops in the Marais can be easily reached via Metro line 1, from nearby Tuileries station.
The oriental-themed Café 221, with its crimson walls and Chinese lanterns, serves a typically French menu of onion soup, croque madame and tarte tatin, which guests can enjoy alfresco on the street-side terrace. There’s also the pretty Salon Louis XVI -- reserved for hotel guests only -- where a full buffet breakfast of fresh juice, pastries, cold cuts and eggs is served daily.
Rooms are equally elegant, with modern dark-wood furniture and marble-trimmed bathrooms. Space can be a little tight, but that’s not unusual in Paris. Opt for a Deluxe room for more floor space and a sofa. The corner suite is a good family option, with a fold-out sofa bed in the sitting room, two bathrooms and a separate entrance to the connecting bedroom.
