The 2015 Traveller's Choice Award-winning Mamaison Suite Hotel Pachtuv Palace Prague is an elegant 5-star hotel in a 17th-century palace in Prague's Old Town, overlooking the River Vltava and next to the Charles Bridge. The palace is filled with antiques and features courtyards studded with playful, modern sculptures. It has hosted writer and former president Václac Havel, legendary lover Casanova and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The hotel is convenient for sightseeing and for many nerby restaurants, which staff advise guests on during free evening wine-tasting sessions in the lobby. The Pachtuv Palace is a 4-minute walk from the Charles Bridge, and an 8-minute walk from the sights in the Old Town Square. It is also a 14-minute walk from the shopping and museums in Wenceslas Square. Prague Castle is within a 20-minute walk, but you can also view the castle, Charles Bridge and the River Vltava from the hotel's outdoor Café de la Crème.
The rooms are spacious and individually decorated, some with 4-poster beds, antique furniture and original murals (including one room with a beautiful ceiling fresco). They include free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a DVD player, a kitchenette with an espresso machine, bathrobes, a complimentary breakfast and 24-hour room service. Upgraded rooms, family rooms and suites include additional sitting areas or separate living spaces and river views, one with a private garden terrace. Wheelchair-adapted rooms are also available, and pets are allowed.
The hotel's restaurant serves Czech-French fusion cuisine, and the café serves drinks and food in a courtyard with views of the river and Prague Castle. An all-day breakfast is available. There's also a cigar and cocktail club featuring sports nights in the old chapel, and a business centre. In-room massage treatments are available for a surcharge.
