Why We Love This Deal

Summer is undoubtedly the best time to visit Burlington, Vermont. We're talking long days spent boating on Lake Champlain, hiking nearby mountains, checking out downtown shops and grabbing craft beers at local breweries.

You'll rarely come across deals during peak season. But we've negotiated 37%–48% off stays at the 4-star Hotel Champlain through September (including Labor Day weekend). You won't find these rates anywhere else. In addition to reduced prices, you'll receive free parking and skip the nightly destination fee.

Travelzoo members say this Curio property by Hilton is "perfectly situated" for venturing around on foot—with the lake on one side and Church Street Marketplace on the other.

Yes, availability of beverages on each floor was convenient.

1. Travelzoo had stated that there will be no Destination Charge however I was charged $25 destination charge each for 2 days. I saw the charge after I received it in an email after I checked out from the hotel. 2. The bathtub in the room was draining very very slow. 3. The hallway on our floor had a stale air odor.

The location is excellent and it’s very peaceful inside with lounge spaces, good restaurants, and a well-equipped gym. The only disappointment was the beverage pantries were a letdown (coffee was scolding and cold water was actually warm). But we would come back because everything else was worth it!

I got sick after the first day, and the hotel (& Travezoo) were very gracious in handling our early ending of our reservation. Thank you!

Our first room had a sopping wet carpet in one part of the room by the bed, and when we called down to the front desk they weren't very nice about it. The did move us to another comparable room. Front desk staff not very friendly. The $10 voucher they give you for food can not be used in the pantry, only in their restaurants, so is practically useless. We only used one out of four.

The hotel and price was fantastic...location as well! My only issue was that after I booked through Travelzoo, when I called the hotel to confirm my reservation they did not have it and the two telephone numbers that appeared in a Google search for Travelzoo did not go through. I had to email Travelzoo to get this resolved and the email response said that this could take 24 hours. The person who I eventually spoke to at Travelzoo got everything under control and was very helpful. It was a little stressful leading up to this resolution though.

We arrived at 5:20 and it took forever to check in, 2 staff working the desk and lines for both. On top of that she told us our room was not ready and it would be 25 to 30 minutes, and they were running behind. I asked if we could get a later checkout and was told no. Absolutely insane that we had to wait, about 10 to 15 minutes later she ended up putting us in a handicapped room. Whic was fine but not what we had visualized…. It is insane not to have the room ready and when tat happens they should have comped something… drink at the bar while we waited, late checkout, more money for breakfast

The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The location was excellent.

The bathroom was dark. The fluorescent light emitted a constant loud buzzing noise. Some of the grout in the shower was black (mold perhaps?). Hotel website listed bathrobes as a room amenity, but there were not any bathrobes in the room. When we asked about it the next morning, we were told you had to request them. But, no one asked if we wanted them at check in. Never had that happen in other hotels. The beverage station on the floor was disappointing. The first 2 mornings the only creamers were flavored. One day there weren't any cups, another day no coffee. The upholstered chair in the room was wobbly and unstable. The front desk said they would send maintenance, but they never showed. We put a folded up face cloth under one of the legs to stabilize it. The view from the room was gorgeous, but when the sun shone into the window late afternoon you could barely see out of it because it was filthy. It wasn't just the outside (which you could maybe understand), the inside was filthy as well. We went outside to check out the Hops and Harvest area. It is an enlcosed area that you need your room key to get back into. We got locked out in the glass vestibule between the outside space and the hotel. The room key did not work. When we called the front desk, they immediately put us on hold without bothering to wait until we spoke. We had to call back and shout do not put us on hold. A staff member came to let us in and said maintenance would look into it. As far as we could tell, the hotel never put up a sign warning others not to use the space. Several hours later we saw a locksmith working on it. We found the food at Original Skiff to be blah. The clam chowder tasted like it was from a can and the fish tacos were bland, Overall we were very disappointed with our stay and will not return.

We had a queen room for two adults and two teens and it was a bit tight. Not a lot of bathroom space or places to hang towels, etc

had issue checking in and got almost overcharged. I had Travelzoo deal but staffed almost charged me for parking and resort fees until I showed my print out confirmation. I had better experience with other staff at the front desk to get services/ tickets as part of their resort fees. Hotel has printer for guests but doesn't work, no signs. Tried few times until I asked the staff. Fridge in room doesn't have a freezer section. No high chair available for rooms. Good location, next to the lake.

had issue checking in and got almost overcharged. I had Travelzoo deal but staffed almost charged me for parking and resort fees until I showed my print out confirmation. Even then had to ask other staff getting to the correct. Took a lot longer to check in. Didn't get my ECHO ticket because he said it had to be on same day, but next day I asked another staff and she said "no, it can be used any day" printers not working but no sign or any notice. If I didnt have my confirmations printed out, I would have been charged for parking and resort fees. Even though they were waived from Travelzoo deal. It seem each staff provided services differently.

Very nice hotel, the staff were friendly. We had couple of negative experiences. 1) the small refrigerator in the room was not really cold and it kept falling over when we opened the door. 2) we paid for a lake view king room and were placed on the second floor, not high enough to see the lake without standing in the corner of the window. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely, and the common areas were cozy and beautifully decorated.
