1. Travelzoo had stated that there will be no Destination Charge however I was charged $25 destination charge each for 2 days. I saw the charge after I received it in an email after I checked out from the hotel.

Our first room had a sopping wet carpet in one part of the room by the bed, and when we called down to the front desk they weren't very nice about it. The did move us to another comparable room. Front desk staff not very friendly. The $10 voucher they give you for food can not be used in the pantry, only in their restaurants, so is practically useless. We only used one out of four.

The hotel and price was fantastic...location as well! My only issue was that after I booked through Travelzoo, when I called the hotel to confirm my reservation they did not have it and the two telephone numbers that appeared in a Google search for Travelzoo did not go through. I had to email Travelzoo to get this resolved and the email response said that this could take 24 hours. The person who I eventually spoke to at Travelzoo got everything under control and was very helpful. It was a little stressful leading up to this resolution though.

On top of that she told us our room was not ready and it would be 25 to 30 minutes, and they were running behind. I asked if we could get a later checkout and was told no. Absolutely insane that we had to wait, about 10 to 15 minutes later she ended up putting us in a handicapped room. Whic was fine but not what we had visualized…. The bathroom was dark. The fluorescent light emitted a constant loud buzzing noise. Some of the grout in the shower was black (mold perhaps?). Hotel website listed bathrobes as a room amenity, but there were not any bathrobes in the room. When we asked about it the next morning, we were told you had to request them. But, no one asked if we wanted them at check in. Never had that happen in other hotels. The beverage station on the floor was disappointing. The first 2 mornings the only creamers were flavored. One day there weren't any cups, another day no coffee. The upholstered chair in the room was wobbly and unstable. The front desk said they would send maintenance, but they never showed. We put a folded up face cloth under one of the legs to stabilize it. The view from the room was gorgeous, but when the sun shone into the window late afternoon you could barely see out of it because it was filthy. It wasn't just the outside (which you could maybe understand), the inside was filthy as well. We went outside to check out the Hops and Harvest area. It is an enlcosed area that you need your room key to get back into. We got locked out in the glass vestibule between the outside space and the hotel. The room key did not work. When we called the front desk, they immediately put us on hold without bothering to wait until we spoke. We had to call back and shout do not put us on hold. A staff member came to let us in and said maintenance would look into it. As far as we could tell, the hotel never put up a sign warning others not to use the space. Several hours later we saw a locksmith working on it. We found the food at Original Skiff to be blah. The clam chowder tasted like it was from a can and the fish tacos were bland, Overall we were very disappointed with our stay and will not return.

Very nice hotel, the staff were friendly. We had couple of negative experiences. 1) the small refrigerator in the room was not really cold and it kept falling over when we opened the door. 2) we paid for a lake view king room and were placed on the second floor, not high enough to see the lake without standing in the corner of the window. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely, and the common areas were cozy and beautifully decorated.

They don’t let you know that a train goes by at 1:30am! Also, dogs are allowed to be in the room alone and bark consistently especially after the train sounded its horn. Checked out a day early and lost $150. When asked about the train the staff acted like they were unaware. Went to leave and had a ticket on my windshield. Had to go back in and see why. Upon check-in, we were charged the full room rate, as the hotel apparently did not know that the reservation was made through Travelzoo (it took some time and delayed us somewhat). The property did not have recycling, which is surprising. Some common areas were dirty and not getting enough attention from housekeeping. The room safe was not working, had to spend some time on that (calling for and waiting for maintenance until the issue was resolved -- do they not check if everything in the room works as it should before customers arrive?). Some items/fixtures in the room were not quite optimal (e. g., bathroom faucets were loose and difficult to use). The 10-dollar card toward food and beverage was... well... somewhat useless, as for two people there was only one card per day, and it did not have much buying power (laughable, really -- bought half of a sandwich at the cafe); better not offer it at all then?... TVs in the room, as well as the gym equipment were geared toward those with subscription to services (e. g., Netflix and Peloton) -- i. e., for those guests without, it was impossible to actually use the equipment.
Was overcharged at the checkout and will have to call the hotel to straighten this out.
Overall, not utterly bad, but not as thoughtful and welcoming as I hoped it would be. If I had to recommend this property, it would be quite cautiously and with multiple reservations. Would I go back? Not certain.

The location is great. Close to the bike trail and a nice walking path lined with trees between the waterfront and major street. Close to some good restaurants. Hotel itself is a bit tired, currently with some construction in the small restaurant which has been closed off with plastic. We were on the 7th floor and could hear no noise at all but wondered about guests on lower floors. The valet parking has been discontinued but the hotel garage is very conveniently located at the foot of the driveway. Beverage pantry on each floor with 24 hour coffee is great for first thing in the morning. Thanks to Travelzoo we had a wonderful three day mini-vacation.

Hotel Champlain was the perfect relaxing getaway. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. My room was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. I loved the location — it was easy to walk to the waterfront, Church Street Marketplace, and downtown Burlington restaurants and shops. The hotel also had thoughtful touches that made the stay feel extra special, including the beverage stations on each floor with coffee, tea, and still or sparkling water available throughout the day. I would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel itself is modern, bright, and beautifully designed with lots of natural light and comfortable gathering spaces. Lily May’s was a wonderful spot for breakfast in the morning. We loved having a view of Lake Champlain. Our room was small but comfortable. Housekeeping came very late in the day and it was a bit of a disappointment to come in our first full day there after a day of exploring to find the bed still unmade and the room not tidied. The food at the Skiff was quite good. Breakfast was average. We appreciated being able to park so easily and it was great to have parking paid.

We would have preferred to be able to make coffee in our room. The coffee station sounds like a great idea but we were at one end of the hall and the station was way at the other. When one of us needs a full cup (mug) of coffee before being able to open his eyes this looong walk turns out not to be such a great idea. And the second day we had to go to several different floors looking for coffee because supplies hadn't been kept up. Also: If you're going to go to the effort of grinding beans why wouldn't you serve REAL milk or cream rather than the stuff in those little creamers?!

Had a partially negative experience... our first night there someone in the room above us took a shower and we got a flood of water in our bathroom from the ceiling. Front desk staff's reaction was what I'd describe as politely detached--they weren't overly apologetic and initially talked about maintenance checking into it and didn't immediately offer us a new room even though it was obvious the problem wasn't going to be a quick fix and our bathroom was unusable. After waiting a while with no further word we contacted them again and they finally moved us. Eventually their "remedy" was to offer us a couple of free breakfasts (which we weren't going to use anyway) and then some points as a Hilton Honors member, when (we feel) they really should have offered to comp that night's stay. I have reached out to Hilton seeking to discuss the situation with someone in person and am waiting to hear back.

We had a very nice time, we thought the location in Burlington was absolutely perfect. We could walk to everything which we loved! The hotel and Facilities were nice, although the floors throughout were a little dirty which might just be given the time of year and all the salt and sand everywhere. We would def go back.

Loved the outdoor sauna. Room was just a typical hotel room, very basic. No refrigerator or coffee maker, great view of lake though! Check in was quite late. We arrived in town early and room wasn’t ready so we returned at 4:15 and room still wasn’t ready. They ended up giving us a different room b/c they didn’t know when ours would be done. Not a problem, just a bit surprising for this hotel.

It is close to Lake Champlain, close to downtown shops & restaurants. The staff were nice but they obviously were way understaffed & I felt bad for them-there were a lot of frustrated people...we did not eat in hotel restaurant but it looked nice. The mezzanine level w breakfast place was very nice w big couches and small tables.

Room not ready at check in-told us would be "shortly" so we unpacked onto luggage dolly & then waited over an hour. We missed New Year's events while waiting and I was stressed that we would miss our dinner reservations. A room around us was loud until 4 am - they should have let people know at check in to be considerate of others sleeping & how we could let them know who were jerks. We used vouchers for breakfast next day-buffet- we got there around 11am -after not getting to sleep until 4am due to inconsiderate people- 15 mins later they told us to grab what we wanted now, that they were cleaning up! They should have told us when we purchased the buffet tickets that it was only open until 11:15. The "pantry" we had access to in hallway was hot water w teabags provided and press button coffee but the 1st night there were no cups left. Why call it a pantry when just tea/coffer? After our rushed breakfast, we got a note slipped under our door saying sorry there would be no housekeeping services today-they said they "took responsibility for this" & there would be a treat in lobby 4-6 pm...it was cookies...there were cookies there the night we checked I'm, too, so must be a few times they needed to provide a treat....I don't want cookies- I want a discount on room or more vouchers for breakfast!. Room was obviously cleaned in a hurry - I wiped down all surfaces w cleaning supplies I brought. You should tell patrons to make sure their room is NOT a connecting room because there was no noise insulation w the connecting door-we could hear every word & I am sure they could hear us :(

We arrived at the hotel has they told us we would be able to get an early check-in at 1 o’clock. We arrived at 2:30 and didn’t get into our room till 420. A note was stuck under our door the next morning that they wouldn’t provide room cleaning. Our room was also provided with a quarter roll of toilet paper and nothing extra there were children and dogs everywhere, that was a bit of a surprise for us. The location and the view from the room was fabulous.

The view of Lake Champlain was so beautiful. Parking was free and convenient. The TV was huge and user friendly to watch Netflix or any of the apps. The heating was quiet! We enjoyed the hot chocolate. Hotel is nicely decorated and has lake view common spaces.

I needed to check out a day early because we had a family emergency at home. They said not a problem, i just had to get travelzoo to call and cancel the one day. I was not able to get a hold of anyone at travelzoo as it was not office hours. I sent an email with no response. If I booked directly with the hotel I could have canceled. So trying to get a little deal ended up costing me.

Very bad experience. Could not sleep the whole night, horrible noise coming from elevator. The hotel manager was not helpful at all, and would not change my room. In top of that bathroom is very small and the so called lake view was very disappointing as well. Location was good but was very noisy due to all other events happening in the hotel during weekend - wedding, conference etc. At breakfast they ran out of forks and they offered plastic forks instead. The breakfast tables are not comfortable ( they are lounge tables) and nobody came to clean the table while we were eating. Worst service ever! I would not recommend this hotel at all. I’m renting a hotel room to sleep and I couldn’t sleep while night. That’s not acceptable. They told me to complain to my booking agent which I did. I already sent you an email about. Waiting for your answer.

The room has a beautiful view of Lake Champlain. The hotel bar and restaurant were good. Happy hour had oysters at half price. Having the parking garage fee included with the Travelzoo price was convenient. I especially appreciated that the parking garage has an entrance to the hotel.

It was quite rundown, chipped paint and scuff marks, mildew in the bathroom. But also dirty. The hallways hadn't been vacuumed, windows weren't clean, glass filled with fingerprints, including entrance to hotel. The pool and hot tub were closed with no advanced notice. Food wasn't good. Asked for a bathrobe and they gave me one with a hole in it. Just over disappointing experience. Definitely not a high end hotel. Oh and I got parking tickets even though my deal covered parking (hopefully they will work that out). Two of the three elevators out of order.

The coffee station on our floor was dirty, coffee grinds, creamer spills and had not been cleaned for a couple of days. Creamers, sugar were empty. Same condition an other floors. The lobby presents well, but the parking lot leaked after the rain, the hallways and walls inside our room showed lots of wear and the room was very dark, lighting not good.
There was no one else in line at the front desk when I went to check out, but the clerk did not look up, ignored me for quite a while before I had to ask to be helped.

My only thought is to check coffee machines on each floor in the AM. We were on the 2nd floor and had to go walk up to the 7th floor for 2 cups of coffee on a Friday morning at 7:30. I enjoy walking but was surprised they were all out.

The hotel is lovely - nice decor, nice staff, walkable location. But I’m STILL trying to figure out our room charges. We booked one night directly and one night through Travelzoo - hence the apparent confusion with staff who tried to be accommodating but we still have pending charges on our credit card from June 19! This seems ridiculous.
Love the idea that they have complimentary coffee and tea on each floor but the coffee is ABSOLUTELY WRETCHED. We were there with friends who discovered - after checkout - that we could have requested an in room coffee maker. Also, it would be preferable to have ice available on each floor.
Main concern is the monetary discrepancies which are still unresolved.
Your questions - would I recommend the hotel and would I stay there again should be able to be answered on a scale, not merely yes/no.

Location was great close to restaurants and lake. Lobby was nice and parking connected by walkway which was convenient. We stayed 4 nights and amenities were not working when we arrived nor when we left. Only one coffee station per floor and 3rd floor not working entire time. Refrig in our room not working upon arrival but was replaced. Ice machine not working but they did bring up ice. Pool door lock not working entire time had to call down to front desk and wait for them to open. Guest told us his car had been broken into in garage and upon letting hotel staff know they did not respond with any solutions. It's a beautiful, comfortable place but they need to make fixing things a priority.

We booked a three-night stay at this hotel only because of the exceptionally low price through Travelzoo. We have been meaning to visit Burlington for several years, but were deterred by the uniformly high hotel prices. This deal was about 1/3 of the regular rate, and included free parking and no destination fee, so we were able to dine out every night and indulge in a little shopping spree for the cost of just the room without this deal. The hotel is very nice, with spacious rooms, well-appointed public spaces, and an excellent location close to the lake and the Church Street pedestrian mall. Locals we told about the deal we got couldn't believe the low price!

Overall, it was worth it. Our view was spectacular.
Some negatives are we ran out of toilet paper the first day. There was no spare roll, so I had to track down housekeeping. Also the was a half drunk bottle of coke outside of our room in the hallway. It was there all day. We finally threw it out ourselves.
The carpeting throughout the hotel is worn and should be replaced.
We enjoyed the staff at the bar.

We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The Pool and the fantastic gym made up for the rather cold and Rains weather we experienced. The coffee on each floor was an added treat. The bikes would have been Great for the bike path if the weather had Cooperated. Maybe next time it will.
