the room was lovely, though small. only real issue is that there was a mask mandate in effect, but there was never a time i passed through the lobby without seeing multiple unmasked individuals that the staff walked right past and did nothing about.

TravelZoo has great offers, and the Emeline was no different! It was easy to purchase the voucher and easy to book the hotel!

The Emeline is a wonderful property! The location is perfect for walking around downtown Charleston, and the amenities, including access to bicycles and complimentary vehicles, are fabulous! The hotel, itself, is lovely, comfortable, and trendy. We will be back!!

Rooms were tiny and not very upscale for what they try to charge.

Reservations with the certificate were difficult. Couldn't get anything confirmed until check in. That took over 30 minutes for them to figure out the certificate.
Then at checkout they wouldn't give me any kind of receipt but assured me it was taken care of.
The following month our credit card was charged almost $900 by Emeline for our 2 day stay. Which we them had to dispute, document, and wait on the refund.
It was a hassle at every step.

LOVE the Emeline! The Manager went above and beyond to rectify the few hiccups encountered. Regarding the booking process, I would've like to received an email confirmation of my booking --something in writing.

This was our first post-covid trip. We felt quite safe and appreciate the extra effort to comply with covid protocols. Our room was perfect as was the service. I highly recommend Hotel Emeline

Our room was across from fitness center and the floor vibrated in our room in the morning.

The atmosphere and decor was really nice. The location was great. Clerks coffee was good.
Other Comments
No housekeeping (which would have been fine obviously with Covid protocols) - but we were specifically told housekeeping would come in to do a "light refresh". This never happened, so we were left without towels, TP, etc. after a long day of exploring. When I called the front desk for more towels, we were brought sheets/blankets instead. It was at least 35 minutes before we received what we needed.
AC/heater rattled door in the room very loud - we told the front desk, so hopefully they have remedied the issue since our stay.
There was lipstick and coffee on the coffee cup in the room. Not just stains, but actual lipstick and coffee that I smudged with my finger. After seeing this - and especially during COVID times - I didn't trust the cleanliness of anything in the hotel. They don't provide disposable cups, so in order to enjoy the Clerks coffee, you are forced to use these unsanitary cups.
The cost of the hotel (without the travelzoo certificate) absolutely does not align with the level of service.

Perfect location for exploring Charleston. Loved the coffee shop in the lobby and having coffee delivered to my room every morning. Visited during covid so the outside courtyard was a nice amenity.

The hotel is just lovely and the rooms are quite comfortable and stylish. The outdoor courtyard, bar and coffee were also fabulous. The only negative was the street noise which is not the fault of the hotel but did impede a restful night sleep. Perhaps stay in a room not facing the street. We shall return!
