The Liaison Capitol Hill DC, located in the heart of the nation's capital, has got cool cred from tip to toe. Starting on top, you find D.C.'s largest rooftop pool and lounge (seasonal), where guests can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city scene to soak up some rays in style and comfort. You may even think you've been dropped in some stylish beach locale, with private cabanas and potted palms.  Several bartenders oversee the space, splashing out custom cocktails and light snacks. You can even get in some sun salutations with complimentary weekday morning yoga classes.

Down on the ground floor, James Beard Award-winning chef Art Smith compiles a menu at Art and Soul restaurant loaded with Southern comfort foods, from bacon cornbread to shrimp and okra gumbo. There's also a fried chicken dish that earned a place on Zagat's list of "16 Must-Try Fried Chicken Spots."

Rooms are cool and contemporary, in taupes, grays and indigos, with wall-to-wall windows and tufted metallic leather headboards.

Out the door, visitors are a short walk away from the U.S. Capitol building. From there it's easy to reach the National Mall, bordered by some of the country's top museums including the free Smithsonian museums and the National Gallery of Art.

Explore all of what the Capital City has to offer with top attractions like award-winning wineries and historic Potomac river cruises to fine-dining experiences just steps from the White House.

Enjoyed Most: The restaurant was very good and bartender accommodating
Other Comments: We didn't receive the complimentary bottled water or cocktails. The receptionist at the front desk said she wasn't familiar with travelzoo and was rude.

Enjoyed Most: We enjoyed the rooftop pool (When it was open) and I really enjoyed the 7am yoga class beside the pool.
Other Comments: Do not book a room on the 10th floor--the pool is just above and really loud when they have parties (they have two on the weekend we stayed--closed to guests all Sunday afternoon and Saturday night). We didn't find the area very convenient for evenings--there really aren't shops and restaurants handy and a large number of homeless people in the area.

Enjoyed Most: Nice quiet room, good discounted rate; excellent location.
Other Comments: So many little annoyances. An apparently nonfunctioning thermostat (the room was cold all 3 days). An employee who ignored the Do Not Disturb sign to wake my husband and insist he press a button on the phone (seriously). My husband left two laundered shirts in a drawer, and when he returned 5 MINUTES after checking out with me, the young woman on the desk would not relinquish them, because the reservation had been in my name. We're not talking diamond cufflinks! Absurd to have to make a special trip back there to retrieve.

Enjoyed Most: I loved the decor of the room, it was very chic and retro. I didn't spend much time in the hotel except to sleep but when I was in the hotel everything was perfect. The staff was friendly. The only thing that I had an issue with was parking. It was $50 to park your car for 24 hours with in and out privileges.

Enjoyed Most: The location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Dani Sep 29, 2015 Raleigh, NC, United States
Enjoyed Most: Great location.
Gregory Sep 28, 2015 Mesa, AZ, United States
Enjoyed Most: The guest services agent that went above and beyond with all my concerns and things that I needed. And the in-room dining staff memeber that delivered my food he was really nice.
Other Comments: Try to get rooms at the end of the hall because the hallway rooms and rooms near the elevator you can hear the most noise and its unpleasant and you will have to change rooms. Other than that no problems.
