"Nice resort, very friendly staff, clean room, comfy bed but hotel could really use a renovation. I feel like most of the furnishings and carpets have been around for at least a decade and are screaming to be replaced."

On the banks of Mill River, the Rodd Mill River Resort tumbles over verdant manicured golf lawns. Its beachy wood-shingled buildings are surrounded by 18 golf greens sprinkled through fairways and streams that work their way down to the riverfront. This remote northern jut of Prince Edward Island is blanketed in farmers fields, woods and dramatic coastal landscapes.

The resort has an indoor saltwater pool fed by a 28-metre waterslide. From May-October, kids 10 and under eat free. Onsite guests can find the squash court for working up muscles, a sauna for relaxing them and spa services for really relaxing them. The resort neighbours the Mill River Provincial Park, which has wagon rides and playgrounds, as well as Mill River Fun Park, with bumper boats, a pirate ship and other water amusements.

They really need to upgrade the resort. We were first on the bottom floor and it smelled like mildew. I Complained and we got moved to a suite for additional charge. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The amenities offered at the hotel are very good for all members of the family (tennis, basketball, volleyball, golf, pool, fitness, campground amenities as well (kids programs etc...).
Other Comments
The hotel is very dated and needs upgrades to the rooms i.e. window A/C vs central air, rusty stairs for the pool slide etc... We did eat one night in the restaurant and the food was subpar for all dishes. Highly recommend eating elsewhere. Again, very impressed with staff and amenities but funds raised by other Rodd Properties and golf courses need to be reinvested in upgrading the hotel rooms themselves.

The grounds are very pretty.

We were surprised at how long a drive it is to the resort after crossing the bridge. We were only there for one night. I would either stay longer or stay more centrally on the Island.

Not really never even saw the river

Very old tired resort the outlets did not work in bathroom and 1 in the room. It is located in a trailer park and they let the campers use the pool so dirty and busy

The golf course itself could be the nicest most challenging course I have ever seen. Beautiful!

The setting. It was a beautiful location.
Other Comments
The outside is beautiful with tennis, volleyball, golf, a really nice tree covered road in. The hotel has a large pool. The actual hotel rooms could use a complete overhaul. The bathrooms were clean but old tile and fixtures. The beds were comfortable enough but had old bedspreads that didn't appear to get washed after each guest. The air conditioner in the room didn't work consistently so it was warm in the room at times. The tv armoire was old and really scratched up with an old style tube tv in it but there was cable. The floor in our room had loose boards or something in one location so it made noise everytime you walked in that area and the walls were definitely in need of a fresh coat of paint. All in all if you are looking to spend your time outside it's a perfect setting and the hotel rooms are adequate but far from luxurious. We had one meal in the restaurant and the food was good but a more casual and affordable food menu would have been a nice option to have.
