For over 100 years, The Bernards Inn has welcomed sophisticated guests to this luxury boutique hotel. Pairing elegant accommodations with gourmet dining, this property holds the title of being the only hotel in New Jersey with a AAA 4-Diamond rating for both its restaurant and accommodations.

Located on the quaint main street of picturesque Bernardsville, this 20-room inn features the charm of a country inn and the service of a luxury hotel. A throwback to the turn of the 20th century, guest rooms are styled after the refined estate homes of the Somerset Hills.

The Zagat-rated restaurant offers gourmet American cuisine prepared under the direction of Executive Chef Corey W. Heyer. Depending on the occasion, guests can choose to dine in the stately Great Room, under shuttered windows in the Conservatory, alfresco on the terrace or in the library piano bar for nightly entertainment.

The Wine Spectator-recognized wine collection is extensive and lovingly managed by award-winning sommelier Terri Baldwin. Guests can pair elegant cuisine from 1,500 selections and 14,000 bottles in inventory.

Deemed the "Grande Dame" of the Somerset Hills, the Inn is an hour from Manhattan and two hours from Philadelphia. Somerset Hills offers a respite from the busy city with golf, hiking, fishing, shopping, spas and more.

From the press:
  • "[The restaurant] exudes old-money sophistication -- from the excellent seasonal menu to the extensive wine list to the professional service" -- Zagat
  • "An elegant lodging and dining destination for over a century. The restaurant has three beautiful dining rooms [that] express a genteel and romantic sensibility" -- NJ Monthly

Enjoyed Most: That's a tough question, because we enjoyed it all. The staff, every one was most gracious. the room was lovely. The food was beyond remarkable. The only glitch was no elevators, but this is an historical building from 1907, I believe.
