The Kokomo Botanical Resort & Spa provides guests with a relaxing home away from home in Turks and Caicos. The cottages are surrounded by lush gardens, where guests can admire colorful flora and reach up and pluck bananas, papayas, figs and exotic fruits.
The suites are compact (about 400 square feet) but come complete with a living room, full kitchen and outdoor patio with a grill. Garden-view suites looks out at the surrounding greenery, while the panoramic-view cottages have views of the water. Daily maid service is included and there's a grocery store a mile away to stock up the fridge with beach snacks and drinks.
Of Grace Bay Beach -- which is an eight-minute drive from the resort -- Lonely Planet says, "This world-famous stretch of coast is powdered with white sand and close enough to the reef wall to see the Atlantic breakers." Also less than 10 minutes away are activities like wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing and snorkeling. End a beach day by sailing away on a picturesque sunset cruise, or head to the nearby Regent Village, which offers seven restaurants and a host of shops and diversions.
