Getting There

Quaaout Lodge is just off of TransCanada Highway No. 1. The resort is halfway between Vancouver and Calgary, a 45-minute drive from Kamloops or a two-hour drive north from Kelowna Interntional Airport. The drive from Seattle is 5.5 hours.
For a more scenic route from Vancouver, take Highway 99, otherwise known as the Sea-to-Sky Highway, for dramatic ocean and mountain views. This route takes about two hours longer than the direct four-hour drive on the TransCanada Highway.

Just relaxing in our room.

The room is very comfortable having been renovated fairly recently. We had reserved dinner in the Jack Sam's Restaurant and our table was posted as reserved for us. We both had the dinner special which was a tasty hake meal in a delicious sauce and with fingerling potatoes and fresh vegetables. Somewhat disappointing due to noise from the bar area off the main reception space. Also there was a group of 17 people having dinner in a small private area off the main dining room, and with the stream of waitstaff passing close our table made our experience less enjoyable. At one point, our waitress apologized for the delay in bringing our meal suggesting it was because we sat down shortly after the group in the private section. That should not have affected our getting our meal.
