$22 & up – SF Opera: 'Don Giovanni' or 'Dream of the Red Chamber'

The San Francisco Opera rounds out its season this year with two show-stopping engagements. War Memorial Opera House invites both local and visiting Travelzoo members to see the best of Bay Area musical excellence.

"Don Giovanni": One of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's numerous famous operas, this piece follows a young man whose promiscuity and disregard for conventional etiquette catches up with him in a web of betrayals and murder. The opera is considered among the composer's best, recognized for its dystopian and humorous take on morality.

"Dream of the Red Chamber": A man faces a difficult decision — whether to marry the love of his life or marry a rich woman who can pay off his family's debt. Set in imperial China, this opera was originally premiered by the San Francisco Opera in 2016 and questions concepts of true love, deception and power.
