The Boston Pops orchestra opens its 132nd season with these lighthearted shows.

The Deal

The Boston Pops have a spring lineup of timeless favorites to open the 2017 season. Travelzoo members can save 40% on tickets to shows into June.

Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart is in his 23rd season with the Pops. The Boston Globe says he is a "musical ambassador" able to handle all genres and has helped "lay out the welcome mat for a wide variety of celebrity collaborators."

"E.T. in Concert" on Saturday, May 13, at 8 p.m.

Lockhart will lead the orchestra through "E.T. in Concert," with the Pops performing John Williams' Academy Award-winning score while the movie plays on a big screen. 

"Mamma Mia/The Music of ABBA" on Monday, May 15, at 8 p.m.

Lockhart will return to the stage to help bring the music of ABBA to life: The Pops and tribute band ARRIVAL From Sweden will perform ABBA's biggest hits.

Ben Folds returns to the Pops stage for the first time since 2012 and will debut his Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.

The Boston Pops will celebrate the famed conductor Arthur Fiedler, who lead the Pops for 50 years, with favorites and classics from his era, directed by Lockhart.

Boston's WZLX radio host Larry "Cha-Chi" Loprete will join guest conductor Steve Hackman to take the audience through the classic rock era, highlighted by the Beatles.
