Join the Washington National this fall in Verdi's retelling of the Shakespeare classic, last staged by the opera 20 years ago. Verdi's music is the perfect accompaniment for the opera's themes of good and evil, as Otello returns to Cyprus, victorious from battle, then is caught in the middle of nefarious plot against him. Otello's jealousy and revenge causes distrust in those closest to him, including his wife, and eventually leads to his downfall.
