Take in Tinseltown.
Avoid paying movie star prices for a hotel by seizing spring travel deals. "Visit the iconic theaters along Hollywood Boulevard and stroll the stars on the Walk of Fame," says Deal Expert Mary Walker Baus. As television's pilot season kicks into high gear, keep an eye out for celebrity spotting.
From the beaches to the valley, Los Angeles is 70 degrees and sunny year-round. "Many of the best beaches are connected by a popular bike path," says Deal Expert Gabe Saglie. "Whether you're on a bike, roller skates or on foot, you can spend all day strolling along the water and through hot spots like Santa Monica and Venice."
LA is more than silicone and sunshine. From the funky boho galleries of Chinatown to the Hammer Museum of Modern Art, LA has a thriving art scene. Deal Expert John Werley says you "can't miss the J. Paul Getty Museum," but his favorite is the scenic Getty Villa just off Pacific Coast Highway.
Amusement park rides.
Thrill-seekers can check out the "Transformers" ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. Deal Expert Nile Cappello enjoys "taking advantage of outdoor attractions like the Hollywood Bowl and Griffith Park before the summer crowds roll in." Looking to laugh? Jay Leno practices his material at The Comedy and Magic Club on Sunday nights.
Chic shopping spots.
Rodeo Drive isn't the only spot for shopping. Deal Expert Laura Arrieta recommends the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, while The Grove is a favorite of Deal Expert Jen Lee. "There's nothing I love more than shopping in spring with an iced coffee in hand," she says.
