We had our dog with us. The pet friendly room included a pet bed, treats, waste bags and bowls for food and water. A great touch to a lovely stay.

They were very gracious when I had to cancel due to a snowstorm in December -- they allowed me to use the voucher when they could have said no (because the cancellation was within 24 hours).

The room was very run-down; the in-room amenities were not up to what you'd expect from Niagara's Finest... and the dinner -- the main course was very good (steak)-- but the appetizer (salad) and dessert (no choice -- they simply brought a really so-so brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream) was really really sub-par -- for a restaurant in NOL... I was disappointed.

Annual NOTL girls overnighter. Was great, only complaint I might have is that it took a very long time to get hot water from the taps in the bathroom. Dinner was amazing, Kudos to the chef. I had the sirloin steak from the feature menu, the soup and dessert were all excellent!

Our room was up a steep set of stairs and on first impression the room looked quite lovely but it is a bit tired and the fridge was so noisy we had to unplug it. Also we had to have maintenance come as the sink was totally blocked. Certainly, the sink should have been addressed prior to check in.

Besides the fact that they were doing some extensive interior painting throughout the hotel & hallways and the fumes from the same being a bit strong all else was well!

We understood the quaintness of the hotel as mentioned we’ve stayed many times before but again due to the time of the year and many stores and activities closing early we were forced to retreat to our rooms right after dinner and had a front desk personal come to our room and ask that we quiet down? We weren’t playing any music, nor the TV up load….only on the phone talking with someone again due to many of the hotel amenities being closed or blocked off as well as early closing in town we retreated to our room. This visit to our room asking us could we quite down came at 10:20pm in the evening on a Friday night? We endured more loud talking while trying to enjoy our dinner in the hotels restaurant. So, we thought this was a bit much and odd but we obliged and ended our call and just sat and watch tv on low in our room! We didn’t know we were going to a senior citizen complex or church sanctuary?

The feature menu that came with our Travelzoo package was mediocre at best. The dessert was a tiny little brownie with a scoop of ice cream about the size of a melon ball. Coffee was not included. If we wanted to order off of the a la carte menu, it would have cost an extra $30 per person

The fireplace didn't work and it was a big pain to get it going (no fault of the staff who tried to help us - staff were great about it, it was just a pain to have to deal with), the whirlpool was dirty and the light above the tub didn't work. We were told in the ad for the hotel that there would be complimentary dvds in the room and there was no such thing - we would have brought our Amazon Firebox had we know that was actually the case. The card gesture was nice as far as it being my partner's birthday, however it was made to sound like something a little nicer would have been left in the room for him. Also, the server at the restaurant was fabulous and the food was very good, however again we were told something special would be done for his birthday at the restaurant and there was nothing. Kind of dissapointing. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been appreciated if the lady taking my reservation had mentioned that drinks and taxes were not included in the voucher, it would have been nice to have been prepared for that. It may have said so on the voucher, but it would have been nice to have that pointed out on the phone rather than when we get to the hotel (which it was). Also, it was not mentioned when booking that the room was separate and only available by stairs which again, would have been appreciated (it wouldn't have changed our mind). I just was told it was a club room, but didn't know what that meant. It also was not clear at all that there was no spa on site when I was inquiring about booking. I wanted to ask for some sort of compensation but I felt bad.
