It rained almost the entire time we were there. Just hope it would let up long enough for a hike or a venture outdoors. Alert Bay is peaceful and serene, definitely rejuvenates the senses and soul. The shoreline is tranquil and we enjoyed just staring out into the rainy sea!

How about a 3- night package? Hoping that 1 of the 3 days won't be a rainy one.

The cabins were clean, spacious and well appointed for preparing your own meals.

Alert Bay cabins marketing materials would lead you to believe they are on or near the waterfront. In fact, you're in the middle of a field on top of a steep hill at the back of the island, with no access to the water (the only road down to the water is private and marked no trespassing).

We really enjoyed our trip and the lovely cabins. We could see the ocean from our front deck and had the pleasure of watching dolphins playing in the water. We had a walk through the forest and was followed by a raven the whole time, right until we left. We had a drive around which didn't take long, it was so quiet with very few people around, no dogs or kids playing outside. There is no wildlife on the Island at all. We didn't meet many other people but the two we did meet were very friendly and helpful, giving us information and pointing us in the right direction. Unfortunately we were unable to visit the museum as it closes at 4pm on Friday and remains closed over the weekend. The Island itself looks a little tired and neglected, although where updates had occurred there were impressive improvements.

We loved the cabins, everything we needed was provided. Very comfortable bed with lovely bedding and towels with complimentary toiletries. the two cabins we hired were spotlessly clean. We were short of nothing. All the cabins have a theme colour in them with bright blues and pinks. Lots of artwork in the rooms which gave us insight into the meaning of the animals and birds etc. Our first night we were the only guests there. Christine, the manager, was welcoming and very friendly and the only other people we spoke to were the caretakers who gave us lots of helpful advice. Parking is easy as it's right by the side of your cabin and from getting off the ferry it's five minutes away. We took all our food and drinks so didn't use the store there, We loved our weekend, just four friends chilling out, having a laugh and enjoying ourselves whilst being mindful of COVID guidelines and restrictions. We would recommend the Alert Bay Cabins.

We thoroughly our stay at the cabin. It was very clean, would have had a nice view if not for the smoke, well set up unit with space to enjoy inside and out - quiet and comfy beds.

We decided to walk on to the ferry and leave our car in Port McNeill($5 per day next to the ferry...pay at the information centre) knowing that the cabins were about a half hour walk away. Cormorant Island has some very steep streets and the Cabins were way at the top! Be prepared. Cabins obviously recently updated and repainted; but the location a half hour’s walk from the town centre, no problem if you have a vehicle. We loved the island altogether although several places were closed on Monday and Tuesday. Friendly people!
Other Comments
Our cabin could have been a bit cleaner, some corners of the room had been missed. Quiet and adequate for the two nights we stayed. Taxi to or from the ferry is only $7.
