Did not go due to weather. Only limited dates for the deal and they would not refund or extend when I cancelled. Also I booked travel from airport from them. Asked for refund and received no answer. Can not answer some questions because I did not go. Will not buy any more deals because of loss of money due to unforeseen circumstances/weather.

We love the pools, the beach and the restaurant. The Oceanfront villa is nice, but with many unpractical defects (ex. lack of privacy, the AC blows directly over the bed..). we wanted to take a day trip to the Khao Sok Ntl Park arranged by the resort. We communicated with them in advance for 6months, and pointed out that there is a risk there would not be places if we had to book the trip on site after arrival. The resort kept telling us that all trips they arrange can be booked only on site. When we arrived and tried to book the trip it turned there were no places... The food and the drinks are pretty good.

We went during high season so we had to find a time that our voucher was available. This was NOT difficult. The facilities are wonderful, some of the best we have stayed in. The pictures are not retouched. We did not upgrade the room. an option provided when reservation was made. Unless you need to have a pool outside your doorstep I don't think an upgrade is warranted. From what we could see the intermediate room type is on a middle floor like the basic room no direct pool access. As mentioned, one of the best places we've stayed including two different Travelzoo Maldives overwater villas. Our bed was larger than a king. I estimate 8 feet; I stretched my arms out and extended my toes it was this wide. The main pool is enormous. Beach is just beyond. Absolutely stunning sunsets. The reflection at dinner is amazing in the pool, can you say golden hour? Get a table by the pool to experience this at least once. Stick to the Thai menu choices. Breakfast is varied and very good, you can eat near a koi pond! If you stay over a Friday night the Thai buffet gives you the opportunity to try many different dishes. It is a little secluded. It is not easy to get to and from the city of Khao Lak. We utilized the property arranged transport to and from the airport. On the ride to the Haven we commissioned the driver for two separate days through his company. He provided wonderful service. Seven nights is a long time to spend in one location if we had not availed ourselves of a tour arranged by the Haven as well as the two day trips we would have been bored. It's okay you are staying on a beautiful beach. The tour we took was to Similan Islands, inexpensive version of the Seychelles. Good tour operator. The included massages were wonderful.

If we booked The Haven again we would stay for less time and travel to see other spots. The horror stories about Thai driving I think are unfounded. If you are comfortable driving on the left-hand side of the road, consider renting a car in Phuket. Although this would not provide local knowledge, and you would explore based on your own research.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Relatively easy to book with the voucher despite time and language differences. The pre-arranged shuttle to the resort was waiting on our arrival at the airport. The resort is about an hour and a half from the Phuket airport. The staff was waiting at the resort with welcoming drinks for our group. Check in was smooth. The resort was as fabulous as the photos on their website make it seem. Despite having only one restaurant, the wide variety on the menu did not make it seem limiting. The breakfast buffet each morning was excellent. All-in-all, a great experience and I would highly recommend the resort.

The only negative comment I would have is that the electrical situation in the rooms is somewhat dated. There are no USB charging ports in the rooms and the outlets did not hold our travel adaptors very well. A small quibble in what was overall, a great experience.

We booked 2 weeks in a king bed premium room for $400 per week. The resort was fabulous! Amazing breakfast buffet was included. We ate often at the hotel restaurant and everything was tasty. The beach was gorgeous and the pool was incredible. No complaints! We rented a scooter from the resort for about $10 per day and it was fun to check out Khoa Lak. We booked a couple excursions through a company in town and that saved us about 25% vs hotel prices for same excursions.

This is a beautiful resort. Two swim up bars in one contained pool. We have a swim up room and it's lovely. The resort is a little out of the way to walk in to town but cabs are accessible and inexpensive. I'd come back!

Easy to book, staff wonderful at check in. We received everything we were promised - food and beverage discount (not good on bottles of wine FYI), a large buffet breakfast every day with lots of choices, free Thai massage (wonderful). The hotel is a good size and nicely situated with an easy 300 baht ride to Khao Lak city center and Bang Niang market. All excursions we booked with outside companies picked us up as part of the cost so no issues there. It rained A LOT every day so keep this in mind if going during "rainy season" - it is no joke but we still had a great time and enjoyed our time in Thailand.

Wonderful staff, food and hotel.
Just a bit isolated and no beach vendors/restaurants nearby. However the hotel provides bikes and shuttles to the town and market so that’s a big bonus.

The Haven is a very big resort. The beach is nice out from it. But no beach chairs. Lots of pool chairs. Breakfast was a good variety. Hotel needs some attention especially around pool tiles. Gym is ok. Location is tough- it’s far off main road because it’s near the ocean which is nice, but only one little restaurant and no massage places nearby. Hotel restaurant is lovely but expensive. You have to take a taxi to town which is very expensive.
Staff who greeted us were very pleasant. Breakfast staff all very kind.

The Haven Hotel
Our stay at The Haven Hotel, unfortunately, did not live up to our expectations, especially considering it was part of our honeymoon trip. While the staff was friendly, their level of attentiveness was lacking compared to other 5-star hotels we’ve visited. During meals, we often had to get the attention of servers for any additional requests, as many seemed preoccupied with their phones. We literally had to stand for someone to come over to us.
The hotel itself was not well-maintained. On our first day, we had maintenance in our room twice to address issues with the air conditioning. Additionally, there were no elevators to the guest rooms, which made accessing our room cumbersome, particularly with our luggage. The layout was also inconvenient, as the main restaurant was not easily accessible from many parts of the hotel.
This was our third hotel on our honeymoon trip, and it made us feel the least appreciated. Despite informing the hotel of our honeymoon, the only special touch was the flowers I had pre-ordered for my husband. Even those were disappointing, as they did not look appealing, and there was no handwritten note or any other gesture to make us feel special.
The saving grace of our stay was the excursions and the rich culture of the surrounding area, which we thoroughly enjoyed. However, the hotel experience itself left much to be desired, and we hope management will address these issues to improve future guests’ experiences.
Overall, the lack of attentiveness from staff, maintenance issues, and poor accessibility left us disappointed with our stay at The Haven. We hope management addresses these issues to improve future guests’ experiences.

**Hotel Review: The Haven**
My husband and I recently stayed at The Haven for our honeymoon, and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations, especially for a 5-star hotel. While the staff was friendly, they were not as attentive as we are accustomed to at other high-end establishments. During meals, we frequently had to flag down servers who seemed more preoccupied with their phones than attending to guests.
The hotel's maintenance was subpar. On our first day, we had to call maintenance twice for issues with the air conditioning, which never functioned properly throughout our stay. Additionally, there were no elevators to the guest rooms, which was quite inconvenient.
Accessibility was another issue, with the main restaurant being difficult to reach from any part of the hotel. This lack of convenience was disappointing and frustrating.
This was our third hotel during our honeymoon, and we felt the least appreciated at The Haven. Despite informing the hotel about our special trip, the only acknowledgment we received was the flowers I had pre-ordered for my husband, which were underwhelming in appearance. There was no handwritten note or any other gesture to make us feel special.
Due to these numerous issues, we decided to cut our stay short by three days and returned to Phuket. I had high hopes for this hotel based on a recommendation from a friend who had used Travelzoo, and this was my first time using your service. Sadly, the experience did not live up to the expectations set by my friend’s past positive experiences.
The saving grace of our trip was the excursions and the rich culture of the area, which were truly wonderful. However, I cannot recommend The Haven based on our experience.
We were looking forward to a memorable and special stay, but The Haven fell short in many aspects.

Food was really subpar. Everywhere else I went in Thailand, including the airport hotel, had significantly better food. Everything at the resort was over priced for Thailand, and getting to anything else other than the resort was difficult. I read other reviews criticizing this place and thought “what do people expect?”, but compared to other places in Thailand this had the vibes of a crappy all inclusive resort, but without it being all inclusive.
