Dozens of small black flies in the bathroom and bedroom, upstairs TV did not work, upstairs phone did not work. Front desk was supposed to send someone to fix these issues, but did not. After waiting for a while, we eventually called to cancel service since we couldn’t wait any longer (upon calling to follow up, they said there were other calls ahead of ours so it will take some time). We just lived with the problems during our stay.

We jumped at the chance to take advantage of the Travel Zoo deal at The Pines Resort. We brought our dog (fee was a little steep), and stayed in a chalet with all the other dog travelers. We had a great time and really want to visit again, but it's almost been a month and we have not received a refund in which we were entitled. Please refer to the next section...

Upon checking out, the TravelZoo voucher was not credited toward the final payment. I was told that it could not be fixed that day because they were switching over their computers to a new system, so may take a few days. I have repeatedly contacted the Resort and as of today (6/14/2021), I still have not received my refund, and I checked out on May 19, 2021...very frustrated! Because if this experience, I really don't know if we will return.

The one thing I wanted to comment on is that if time provides, to go thru the units and make sure equipment is working, lights are working, and maybe add another pot and smaller pan to be provided. We ended up calling maintenance for the television and internet service, and couple of the lights were out. I'm guessing if your guests do not contact you, you won't know, but I think a run through of the equipment and items might be helpful. Maybe your clean-up crew could check and report.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pines Resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were neat, clean and offered a beautiful view of the lake. The suits offered easy access to the restaurant which could be a great feature during cold weather. Drawbacks were the noise level of the guest above us. The floors are carpeted over wood and amplify noise. We ran the bathroom fan to muffle the noise. This is a great place for families to enjoy the water, pool, and outdoors. We

Finding the check-in/reception desk is difficult. It is in a row of shops and it blends in with the other signage. This was our first experience with TravelZoo. It was very positive.
