This giant province contains most of the world’s fresh water in it’s lakes, and 40% of Canadians live there. On the shores of Lake Ontario, the CN Tower dominates Toronto’s skyline. Canada’s biggest city oozes with a multicultural coolness: Vogue named Queen Street West one of the hippest neighbourhoods in the world with a thriving art scene and 8000 restaurants of any ethnicity you can think of. This city is characterized by its neighbourhoods filled with stylish people.
Many people yawn at Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, but it’s is anything but bland. The Rideau Canal oscillates with activity in the summertime, and locals skate to work on it in the winter. Aside from the impressive Parliament Buildings, the Group of Seven’s iconic art sits in the National Art Gallery of Canada and Byward Market is full of local vendors and restaurants. Hotel prices here drop once Parliament is out for the summer.
Niagara Falls hotels are plentiful surrounding the thundering falls, and there are few times during the year when prices aren’t high, especially on the weekends when everyone comes to gamble, wine and dine. Finding a room with parking included is difficult in this entertainment-filled town, but not impossible. Niagara-on-the-Lake is close by with charming inns and sprawling vineyards wrapping around the lake.
