Elizabeth Pointe Lodge
About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- Winner of TripExpert's 2019 Best of Jacksonville and Experts' Choice awards
- Fodor's calls the complimentary breakfast "legendary," plus there's free wine, beer and evening hors-d'oeuvres
- Romantic amenities include wraparound porches complete with rocking chairs and beach views
"Distinctive of the most upscale of 1890s Victorian beach getaways," (Conde Nast Traveler), the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge is more reminiscent of a 19th-century Nantucket mansion than a Floridian beachfront hotel. Wraparound porches bedecked with rocking chairs lead into a nautically inspired, wood-paneled lobby. There's even a small hotel library in the corner, plus a stone fireplace conducive to late-night conspiring over cocktails.
Despite its New England-style architecture, the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge is all Southern hospitality. Guests begin each morning with complimentary breakfast, including made-to-order items like frittatas and biscuits with sausage gravy. There are also free snacks throughout the day, as well as an hors d'oeuvres hour in the evening featuring a selection of wine and beer.
The lodge's old-world charm extends to the rooms, which feature plush beds, white-shuttered windows and beach-themed prints on the walls, in addition to free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Not all rooms overlook the water, so we recommend reserving an Ocean View Room for the best scenery. Guests seeking more space should consider upgrading to one of the suites in the Ocean House or Miller Cottage, which feature Whirlpool bath tubs.
