The Postcard Inn at Holiday Isle already had a reputation for having one of the most happening Tiki bars in the Keys. The bar originally opened in 1969, and in 1972, on a dare, the manager invented the cocktail now known as the Rum Runner. The alfresco bar beneath a thatched roof is still a popular stop for visitors, including celebrities like Susan Sarandon and Jeff Daniels. The rest of the resort has been gussied up with an $11 million renovation that brought in a contemporary — yet still casual — vibe.

Rooms have nautical twists, including decorative fish sculptures mounted on whitewashed wood-paneled walls, rustic wood furnishings and textiles in aquatic colors. Upgraded rooms have private balconies, some overlooking the Atlantic. The Holiday Isle Tiki Bar includes live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, and there are two other restaurants — the Raw Bar, which serves up seafood favorites and Ciao Hound, which offers Italian comfort food. Guests can purchase water sport adventures that depart from the resort, including dive trips, fishing charters, boat rentals, Jet Ski trips and snorkeling.

Additional charge not justifiable in my case - I did not rent anything.

I loved the décor and chill vibe! The staff was also super friendly and the location was great because we could walk to any restaurant and beach bar on the strip.

The hotel was pretty empty and quiet when we were there (December), so it was kind of boring. I would have liked some entertainment or something to do at night.

The updates that they are making will make the hotel an even bigger draw for the price. Very beachy. Staff was most helpful. It's colorful & the beautiful beach was rt. there ! Pool was a +, too.

I think others would be happy with the location, the beach bar, pool area and all things in this area of price range. VERY COLORFUL which I enjoyed because it added even more to the tropical feel !

The pool and grounds were nice, also the beach is quite nice

Rooms were much more shabby than shabby chic. Bathtub stained, showerhead rusty. It was very clean, but still not enjoyable. They have also apparently stopped some of the services that came with the voucher, such as sundries at the pool or the welcome drink.

The pool, and its proximity to the beach.
Other Comments
The rooms are a bit old so everything has a worn out feeling to it.

Simple but stylish. Rooms were not huge, but modern and neat. Bathrooms should be their next point of emphasis if they upgrade anything, but they were certainly serviceable. Beach is beautiful, pool is beautiful, though my kids only wanted the beach once they experienced that!

Wish i could have spent some time at the PCI bar, though i heard from some of the other (drunk) guests their prices were quite a bit higher for drinks and food than all the other nearby establishments at other resorts on the beach. Having the kids and only being there for one night, it wasn't that big of a deal anyway. Not sure what time the music turned off, i think it was around 10pm or maybe even 11 ?? Kids fell asleep with it, so not that big of a deal. I could see some families being annoyed by the speakers in the courtyard come sleeping time. We used a white noise sleeping app on the smartphone to combat it, and kids conked out no problem. My only other concern was the resort fee inclusion (or NOT included??) situation was murky on the email confirmation. I thought it was reduced and included as part of the deal, which it seemed to say in one spot on the confirmation, but in another it said some amount would be payable at the resort, but it just wasn't completely clear between what i read and the same for the gal working the front desk. I still have to wait and see what the actual final charges are from both Travelzoo and the hotel, because she wasn't even certain either, considering what was billed to my card on multiple transactions. Once the dust settles, hopefully my bill is correct!

Noise was an issue. Power spraying around pool area at 12 noon for over an hour was a bit untimely. One night st 3am a group returning back to room loudly awoke us.

We really loved the ambiance of the court yard with all the activities. the pool bar looking out over the beach is great! We didn't get in the water because we didn't have time and the red tide was still pretty prevalent. The modern beachy vibe was really great and I loved the attention to detail for the pups. We have a dog and I'd love to bring him with us. The bathroom was a little small for my husband and I and the tub was bubbled up so every time you closed your eyes in the shower to wash your face or just not to get soap in your eyes you felt like you were going to fall. Other than that we thought everything was very clean and kept well for a beach resort.
