This Grade II-listed Edwardian property, which featured in Condé Nast Traveller's Hot List in 2012, has a history stretching back to 1899 -- Winston Churchill held an important war meeting there in 1940, and MI6 used the hotel as its wartime base.
Located beside St James's Park and its Tube station, the hotel provides easy access to iconic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. You'll stay in the bustling West End, ideal for shopping or theatre trips, and close to the River Thames and attractions such as the National Portrait Gallery and Covent Garden.
The hotel's Michelin-listed Caxton Grill restaurant holds 3-AA-Rosettes and head chef, Adam Handling, who recently featured on BBC's "Masterchef: The Professionals", brings culinary expertise to create an 11-dish tasting menu. Alternatively, enjoy afternoon tea in the Caxton Bar or Caxton Terrace, which overlooks the hotel's secluded courtyard.
The décor features velvet textures, bold patterns and a sweeping staircase complete with decorative chandeliers to line its "highly ornate" grand entrance hall and balcony, which Red magazine describes as "awe-inspiring".
