Overview
The Kimpton Glover Park opened in June, taking the place of Savoy Suites on a tree-lined street between Georgetown and the National Cathedral. Its location is close to D.C. attractions but offers a quiet oasis for relaxation after a day of sightseeing. The property offers a complimentary shuttle to Georgetown and American Universities as well as the Woodley Park Metro station which is a five-minute walk from the Smithsonian National Zoo.
Mornings begin with free coffee and organic tea in the lobby and visitors can work out whenever their itineraries allow with 24-hour access to the on-site fitness center. Group classes are also offered in the gym, or guests can hop on the custom-designed PUBLIC bikes available through the hotel’s front desk to work up a sweat while sightseeing.
The hotel offers stylish accommodations with crisp linens, black and white furnishings and bursts of green accompanying framed plant stencils on the walls. Modern conveniences come standard here including complimentary yoga mats, iPhone docking stations and snacking stations where Kimpton Karma Rewards members get a $10 credit. Rooms include one king or two queen beds, a mini refrigerator and large desk. All accommodations are pet-friendly and upgraded studios with kitchenettes are also available. In-room spa treatments can be booked to further vacation relaxation and those traveling with kids can request a goldfish to keep them company during their stay.
Kimpton invites guests to unwind with a free wine hour each evening. Following happy hour, fill up on Italian cuisine at Casolare, the on-site restaurant headed by James Beard Award-winning Chef Schlow.
