Desert Rose Resort and Cabins is a family-run hotel that has been operating for 20 years, located in the small town of Bluff in the southeastern corner of Utah. The hotel is named after Grandmother Rose and the restaurant is called Duke's after the grandfather. It has 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor, with guests praising the upscale feel of the hotel.
Guests can use the indoor swimming pool and fitness centre, there's also a gift shop to buy a souvenir. Bedrooms are either in the main lodge or in separate cabins; all have private terraces.
The hotel is located along the route of Utah's Grand Circle of National Parks. The closest are Canyonlands National Park (94 miles away) and Monument Valley (45 miles away). Goosenecks State Park is half an hour drive away and is a spectacle of deep former river beds; a result of 300 million years of erosion. Don't miss the 17-mile unpaved road through the Valley of the Gods, which is "like a do-it-yourself roller coaster amid some mind-blowing scenery", says Lonely Planet.
