The Grade II-listed De Vere Cranage Estate Hotel was built in 1828. Set in 20 acres of grounds, it's a peaceful base from which to explore the Cheshire countryside or the cities of Manchester and Chester, which are both less than an hour away.
Tatton Park is 15 minutes' drive away and the National Trust's Little Moreton Hall, a Tudor manor house with a moat and manicured knot garden, is 20 minutes' drive away.
Oulton Park Circuit motor-racing track and the Peak District National Park are 30 minutes' drive from the hotel, and Chester Zoo is 40 minutes' drive away.
Back at the hotel, facilities include an extensive leisure club (over-16s only, with restricted splash times at weekends), consisting of a gym, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, tennis courts and an aerobic studio, which is open to all guests. Beauty treatments are also available with prior booking (supplements apply).
A full English buffet breakfast is served every morning in the Tempus Bar and Restaurant, which also serves lunch and dinner. The menu focuses on locally sourced and homemade produce where possible.
Rooms are located in a separate building, and have free Wi-Fi.
