Le Roc e Fiori combines rural seclusion with easy access to Corsica's southeast coast and nearby sightseeing spots. Surrounded by lush countryside, this mountain-view hotel is housed in a traditional villa in colourful red and terracotta tones. It's around a 10-minute drive from stylish Porto-Vecchio, with its lively marina and picturesque old town, and less than 15 minutes' drive from both Palombaggia and Santa Giulia beaches. Bonifacio, known for its imposing citadel, medieval architecture and natural harbour, is around 30 minutes' drive from the hotel, while the ancient hill town of Sartène,with its steep narrow streets and ruined castle, takes about an hour to reach by car.
There's a homely feel to Le Roc e Fiori's interiors, which include a bright lobby topped with a glass cupola, lounge areas furnished with leather armchairs and plush sofas, and a nook with a vintage piano. Guests can enjoy regional dishes in the Le Portail restaurant, where low ceilings, tiled floors and sections of exposed stone give a rustic feel, cool off in the sea-view outdoor pool with its surrounding terrace, and stroll through the hotel gardens, which are planted with oak and olive trees, bougainvillea and rosemary bushes. A hammam and massage services are also available (fees may apply).
Individually decorated guestrooms pick up the simple, country-inspired vibe. Each one has free Wi-Fi, a TV, a mini bar and air conditioning, as well as a terrace with views over the mountains to Porto-Vecchio's bay. Some have wood-beamed ceilings. Higher-tariff rooms add living areas, while suites come with separate sitting areas, contemporary furniture and black-and-white prints.
