The Hotel Villa Glori offers refined accommodations a short stroll from the banks of the Tiber River in Rome's Parioli district, described by Frommer's as "an area for connoisseurs … Rome’s most elegant residential section, a setting for some of the city’s finest restaurants, hotels, museums and public parks." The hotel is located on a quiet side street among pastel-hued townhouses, with a stately terracotta-toned façade.
The Zaha Hadid-designed MAXXI museum of contemporary art, the modern Ponte della Musica bridge, and Villa Glori park, home to a kids playground and a café, are all within 15 minutes' walk away, while Villa Borghese gardens and gallery, and Piazza del Popolo with its noted obelisk and vast churches, take approximately 20 minutes to reach on foot. Major sightseeing destinations such as the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Roman Forum are around a 20-minute bus journey from the hotel.
There's a cozy, English-inspired feel to Hotel Villa Glori's public spaces. Guests can wake up to breakfast in the genteel dining room, which features richly patterned linen and ornate wallpaper, and enjoy cocktails on plush velvet sofas or at marble-topped tables in the lobby lounge and bar area.
Guest rooms have a polished feel, decorated in soft neutral tones with hardwood floors and traditional wood furnishings. Wi-Fi is free.
