Unfortunately we had bad news and was unable to go. I am positive we would have loved our stay, it were looking forward to it so much. I must praise travel zoo and the hotel our original stay was suppose to have been in December last year which health issue got in the way, both travel zoo & the hotel were so helpful in changing our date at that time. Just a shame another obstacle was in our way. Hopefully we will book another time. Thank you travel zoo & the Leonardo Royal hotel for the help with the earlier date.

The spa is great. Unfortunately, the staff seem to be absent. My room was fine, but the mini bar was lacking many of the usual amenities and despite asking, NOTHING was done to refill it. In fact it took me 24 hours to get an Earl Grey tea bag and some tissues, which were not in the room on arrival. I was disappointed that the room was not cleaned and serviced when I was staying two nights. I have stayed MANY times over the past 13 years and was slightly dissatisfied with the lack of cleaning, lack of attention to the customer's requests and complete absence of staff around the place.

The location was great and a nice alternative to the area we usually stay in London. However the service was poor. Not only did they say check in was 4pm despite TravelZoo’s booking saying 3pm, they didn’t apologise and when we finally did check in it was like a school trip with so many people at once. When we did get checked in the staff member couldn’t be bothered to tell us anything about the hotel and rushed through explaining where our room was. We were also disappointed to hear the main building was already full so we had to go to their ‘other building’. For the price it was decent value I guess but the bathroom wasn’t clean and the minibar was locked. It just didn’t feel very comfortable!

The fire alarm went off in the night but it went off for about 15 seconds then stopped, then did the same thing about 5 minutes later. It was not very loud and had I not woken my husband he would have slept through it. We didn't realise it was a real fire alarm so went back to sleep. It wasn't until we went for a swim the next morning that the receptionist mentioned it. The alarm really does need to be louder. No one knocked on the door which begs the question as to do they check that everyone is out of the hotel.

Rooms clean and fresh. Reception huge. Nice staff. Did not eat dinner or breakfast apart from a complimentary breakfast on the final morning. Unfortunately the food was only lukewarm. If I had to have paid £20+ per head I would not have been happy. The duty manager did offer a sincere apology which was to her credit and the chef came out to check the food temperatures after my comment.

Initial room was filthy, debris under sofa bed mattress and bed not made up. Dirty linen used to make main bed up. Toilet cleanliness wasn't to the standard expected in a 4 star hotel.
