Aptly named for its perch on Pine Mountain in Georgia’s largest state park, the Mountain Top Inn offers comfortable rooms and cabins with ample space for families and large parties to spread out while staying together. From the resort, guests have direct access to over 40 miles of trails winding through Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park which stretches across almost 10,000 acres of the state's western territory.
Accommodations balance modern comforts like free Wi-Fi, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, refrigerators and coffeemakers with the inn’s rustic setting. Wood paneled walls line each room and open to private balconies with rocking chairs looking out at the surrounding wilderness. Upgraded lodgings include jetted tubs, kitchenettes, fireplaces and sofa beds. Families and groups can also reserve cabins with as many as nine private bedrooms.
The resort has a mountainside pool with panoramic views as well as a clubhouse with a pingpong table and games for rainy day fun. At sunset, guests are invited to roast s’mores and sip cocktails around the fire pit. The property does not feature on-site dining but is within a 10-minute drive of Pine Mountain's restaurants. Beyond the park, guests can reach Callaway Gardens, Wild Animal Safari Park and Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site in less than half an hour by car.
