"The best part of our stay was the newly refurbished, comfortable twin-bedded room, very clean and peaceful (except for the banging of doors by visitors vacating rooms very, very early in the morning). Everything we needed was provided and the ensuite was immaculate and the beds very comfy. The lovely lady on reception, Beatrice, was very welcoming. On the whole the hotel looks rather tired especially the entrance and hallway but on balance the price was we think value for money especially as it included a nice cooked buffet-style breakfast, all laid out perfectly and easy to serve yourself."

The teaspoons and cups had coffee stains on them, which I was not impressed with. Also guests were talking outside in the garden area till early hours of the morning which kept us awake

Well equipped, large and comfortable room.
Other Comments
Buffet breakfast was very poor on first morning because a group using the conference facilities emptied supply of hot food prior to guests, including ourselves. This seemed not to have been anticipated by the hotel staff, and was very slow to be addressed.

A lovely room. Excellent extras with travel zoo
Other Comments
They had 2 weddings on when we were there. So we were put in a conference room for evening meal, we had very slow service and my husband had to go to kitchens to get his potatoes to go with meal. They apologised and said they hadn't the staff to cope, I also had half my mains missing. But other than that (and we did feel sorry for the young girl trying to take The Orders) we did still really enjoy our stay.

Generally all was excellent, just one or two 'niggles'! All the staff we met (with one exception) were very cheerful and helpful and the lady on reception when we checked out seemed to create a problem with the bill, when there wasn't really one!
Other Comments
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who again explained the conditions of the Travel Zoo offer to us. We telephoned 2 weeks prior to ensure reservation was there (bad experience in the past!) and again we were assured all was in order and that our request for adjacent rooms also noted (as 2 couples travelling but had to book separately on Travel Zoo!!!) - this is what we received too. First impressions excellent. We went to the bar and the men again were disappointed as all the pumps were there for bitter, but no bitter!!! Rooms were clean and fully stocked with amenities, looked recently refurbished, although the toilet flush left a lot to be desired which we did report and understand was being looked ta the following week. Food was good, although dinner menu restricted, but overall good value for money - drinks probably a little pricy as was the one grilled tomato as an extra at £1.50!!! - would not ant to buy a kilo! continued above.....

The staff were friendly.
Other Comments
The bed was really hard and kingsize bed was made up with double mattress cover and double duvet in superking duvet cover so not very comfortable. The dining room was understaffed and the staff that were present didn't seem to have had any trsining. At dinner on the first night we had to go and get our own drinks from the bar because no one took a drinks order and we had to wait 30 minutes for dirty plates to be removed and order taken for desert. Food itself was ok but more like pub grub than a 4star hotel. Breakfast was like Fawlty Towers - tables not set up, good running out and service non existence. When croissants and pastries refilled they were not properly cooked and the mindless were raw. We spoke to the duty manager who left a bottle of wine sand an apology in our room but after a second uncomfortable night we checked out early. There was no fan in the bathroom and the bedroom window did not open as it had secondary glazing so the room was hot and stuffy.
