Overview

Located in a private and relatively quiet part of Miami Beach, the boutique Red South Beach Hotel sits in the middle of a reinvigorated neighborhood featuring chic restaurants as well as South Beach classic bars and clubs.

Pops of red and white mixed with French-inspired artwork dress up the interior areas, and guest rooms offer bright and simple layouts. The lobby has unique details like bright red chandeliers, red-framed elevators and an eye-catching, illuminated front desk. Room types are suited for single travelers and couples, and on-site amenities include a pool and fitness center.

The beach experience on this part of the island is intimate, yet the hustle and bustle of South Beach isn’t far away. Guests have access to beach chairs and towels once on the beach, and the 40-block boardwalk that stretches down to the southernmost point is only a five-minute walk from the hotel.

From 5-7 p.m., the hotel offers a daily happy hour where guests get a taste of the drink of the day for free. The restaurant on property, Barok, features continental food; for brunch, try the steak and eggs, and lunch and dinner options include bruschetta, seared salmon and chocolate fondant.

Lincoln Road, a promenade offering high-end boutiques, jewelry stores, bars and a variety of restaurants, is only a 10-minute drive from the hotel. In the same area, guests can also visit Española Way, a historic block resembling a Spanish villa that has colonial-style architecture and overhanging cafe lights, making it a pleasant retreat from some of the more trafficked streets on South Beach. The Bass Museum of Art, the New World Symphony and nightlife at Washington Avenue are also within a two-mile radius.

We loved it. I think the Red is one of the finest boutique hotel in the area. The convenience of its location is a plus. The beach is just some steps away and the buzzing and craziness of South Beach is just a few blocks apart. The hotel provides you with the choice to retrieve to a peaceful place when you decide to call it a quit.

My wife and I missed 1 night due to a confusion from our part. Although they were not able to restitute the lost night, they did the best thing they could do for us and gave us a very late checkout on the 2nd night. I want to extend our sincere gratitude to the front desk manager, Zeneida, for her professionalism and understanding. The right ingredient that makes a great manager. On another note, my wife loved the chicken wings. We're planning another trip to the Red and the chicken wings were added to the "must do list".

The hotel was in a great location. About 3 to 4 miles to the very point of South Beach that was easily walkable. Also almost directly across the hotel was a beach access and right behind the "Edition Hotel" (next to the access entrance) you could rent daybed and chairs and umbrellas for a fee. Included in the daily hotel fee includes towels and chairs that you can use at the beach during your stay but since we were there only one night our checkout time did not accommodate us to use the services. Also every night from 5 to 7 they have happy hour and The signature drink for the night is free for one serving per guest. The drink of the of the night we stayed was a Gin and Tonic and the night before a strawberry margarita just to get an idea.

Arrived on Saturday night and as we pulled over to have the car valet we were told the garage was full and we'd have to park at the option of two other hotels across the street or down the road. Price difference was only $6-$10 but an inconvenience none the less. As we were actually checking in we were then told they had no cable throughout the entire hotel as they were updating the system? With the booking deal we received it included a bottle of champagne. The bottle was just handed to us over the counter as we checked in instead of just being in our room when we arrived. Not the end of the world but a tad tacky in my opinion. When we finally got to our room it smelled of paint fumes as if it were painted that morning. We also received a voucher for free breakfast in the morning. Although edible, it was lacking and I believe I've had better at a holiday inn. While it was free so that was fine, they charged other hotel guests xand I would have been extremely upset if that's what was offered for an additional fee.

Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is clean and stylish. Breakfast buffet was good. Complimentary bottle of champagne was a nice touch. Very close to beach. Not far to Lincoln Rd for shopping and restaurants. The Trolley was a fun way to get around. Uber is another fairly priced wa to get around.

The rooms along Collins Ave are very loud with traffic at night should consider sound muffling windows or walls
