A stay at the Colonial Houses is like stepping back in time. The hotel is made up of 26 homes from the 18th century within the living-history museum Colonial Williamsburg. Once used as kitchens, shops and brick houses, the converted buildings are decorated with period furnishings and include rooms with one or two beds, all with private bathrooms. Modern amenities like coffeemakers and televisions are included, and each room has space for a small seating area; many also have canopy beds and fireplaces.

As part of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the hotel offers exclusive perks to enhance a visit to the Revolutionary City. All reservations in the landmark lodgings include free shuttle service around town, on-site parking, Wi-Fi, two-hour bike rentals and use of the tennis courts. The property has three pools, two outdoor and one indoor, a spa and a fitness center with complimentary classes. Guests receive discounted tickets, retail purchases and evening programs. The Colonial Houses are just a short walk to the Liberty's Ice Pavilion where guests can enjoy ice-skating paired with some hot chocolate, cider and other snacks and beverages from the concession stand.

Dining options in Colonial Williamsburg include both historic restaurants and contemporary cuisine. To taste a bit of the past, reserve a table at George Washington’s favorite tavern, sample colonial snacks at the apothecary, or pick up homemade cookies at the bakery. Picky eaters can fill up on familiar favorites like burgers, pizza and handcrafted cocktails with casual and upscale options.

I needed to make a change on my booking and they worked with me to accommodate my needs. Had a vision impaired person with us & requested a room with minimal stairs and easily accessible. Was very happy with accommodations . Everyone was wonderful. Great place to stay. Loved it.

Everyone was really friendly! We stayed at the Market Tavern. It was lovely. This was a great experience! I wish I stayed longer. The house was very well decorated with era furniture. The room was nice and cold on the hot day, and changing the temperature was easy. The bathrooms were completely updated with everything you would need. The windows were beautiful with hand blown glass and the bathroom window opened out if you wanted fresh air. The floors were beautiful wood and the back yard had a beautiful garden. The room had a TV with cable, a mini fridge, phone, and keurig. We loved being right on Duke of Gloucester street and wandering around. We walked to Dog Street Pub for dinner and The Cheese Shop for a cheese plate. Both were excellent.
